James Harden calls Daryl Morey a 'liar,' says he will never play for him again | NBA | SPEAK

Спорт

The James Harden-Philadelphia 76ers saga continues. During an Adidas event in China, Harden ripped 76ers president Daryl Morey saying that he quote: 'is a liar and I will never be a part of an organization that he's a part of. Let me say that again: Daryl Morey is a liar and I will never be a part of an organization that he's a part of.' This came two days after the Sixers ended trade talks surrounding the ten-time All-Star. Emmanuel Acho, Joy Taylor and LeSean McCoy react to Harden's comments.

Rock in span here, when I saw James Harden give up all those millions last year, I said to myself, what a freaking idiot. Does he not realize the NBA looks at him like he’s 158 years old. You don’t give up that money. There is a soft cap in the NBA, if they wanna acquire players, it’s up to them to pay the cap penalties. Not the player.

Harden is believed to be the 2nd best player on the 76'ers, due to his legacy in Houston. Truth be told Maxey is the best option now in Philadelphia after Embiid, not Harden. All Harden has done is sentence himself to yet another "I'm not happy, trade me" season after doing the same in Houston, and Brooklyn. Plus no teams are going to want to take him, unless it's at a greatly discounted price.

Under contract, his money needs to be matched. That severely limits the Sixers options. Even more since he is on record saying he only wants to play for the Clippers. He's trying to force the Sixers into a bad deal. He isn't doing any favors. Him taking the payout last year was mutually beneficial if the team won. It bothered me when Joy said that he didnt do his job. Harden is oneof the only reasons why Embiid did so good. He literally led the league in assists, he assisted the MVP the most and helped him win that MVP. Embiid had a historic season partly because harden set him up. Harden basically won two playoff games by himself. However, no one mentioned that Embiid got hurt and left harden to most of the heavy lifting by himself. Harden did his job, he wasnt the main star, his job was to help and embiid be the main event. He averaged 21 6 10 on nice efficiency, he was snubbed on the all star list last year. Now does he underperform at times yeah, but saying he aint doing his job just wrong

Ok fine you have valid points. But that doesn’t translate into a max contract automatically. Regular season stats are nice, but in playoffs you HAVE to perform to earn your worth. So in the 7 game series against Boston he played great 3 out 4 games, and others were stinkers. So for a max contract is valued on PERFORMANCE.

The thing is, James has to prove he was lied too. Then the entire Sixers organization can be held accountable. The problem for James Harden is nothing is in writing based on what he has said so far. Unless he as some kind of text, video, or audio of Morey saying they'll get him on the back end he wasting his time and depleting his value. No one wanted Harden this off season. If he can't back up his claims no sane GM is going to want him on their roster next year.

I don't think James has to prove anything. He is going to get his request and receive a trade this season no matter what. He opted in because he couldn't get half as much as a free agent. He doesn't care about what they get back for him. That's why he keeps poisoning his trade value. The only thing the Sixers can do, is bank on Maxey continuing his rise. They can't let Harden play and be a cancer, and they need Maxey to continue to ascend to max player levels. The league can't let Harden go to the Clippers, because this current trend has to stop.

Finally analysts making some sense on this.... At some point people have to face the fact and realize, it can't always be everyone else when there's a common denominator with a player. You understand it can't be everyone else when a player has an issue and wants to force a trade. It's usually the person that has the problem everywhere he goes... Harden seems to be the issue.. He thinks he's worth that much, play the year and see what you get when you are actually a FREE AGENT!! He knows no one wants him for that money. He's not getting a Max Deal. That's why he's pushing. Rickets didn't want him. Clippers didn't want him enough. That's why they weren't offering a good trade package. Harden knows no team is going to give him that long a contract or max or super max money. It's a business, and the team has to do what's right for the team. I'm tired of players threatening to sit out, not play, and all that BS. It's BS!! The league needs to stop this From being allowed to happen. Simple!! You don't Play... No Pay!! Put it to an end!! Honor your Contract!! Become a Free Agent!!

one thing I learned just about business period on a small or larger level, nothing is promised. Doesn't matter what your field of work is. As great as Harden is, if he was winning he'd get even more money. Look at Bron, Curry, etc. They do not take pay cuts and they win. You take a pay cut to play with them pause, its not the opposite.

I'll get you as much as I can but I will not promise or infer a max deal anywhere down the road here with this or another organization. But that’s the point. People keep saying the reason was Harden. That means you remove him and go forward. If they thought they needed better supporting players they would have used the salary space of the vets like Niang and Milton to sign and trade rather than let them walk. Resign Harden on a 3 year max and use Tobias and fillers to upgrade the wing positions. Instead they signed vet minimums suggesting a mini rebuild for cap space. Iam sure they will do a dump to stay under tax this year. They are not trying g to contend this year, true contenders push up to the second apron. Harden and Embiid know this.

It’s time to Black Ball James. He is tone def about the fact he’s almost washed up. There is no real market for him and he’s going after the one man who have saved him a few times in the NBA. I wouldn’t play him until he can be traded. James is an @ hole anyway and has taken advantage of his situation like he’s Kobe Brayan’s or something. The man has never won a a championship and James acts like he’s the best player in the league. The NBA has early retired several players. Remember Latrell Spreewell said he can’t feed his family with $15 million? Out of the League. Allen Iverson refused to come off the bench to accept his new role, out of the league. I can go on and on. It’s time for James to face reality. There is a reason he opted in. No one else was going to give him that type of money.
