It really doesn't seem like a smart move to try to get free endorsements out of big name celebrities without them even knowing. There's no celebrity that would take on free endorsement for products so there is no way this would sit right with them. This could end up being very bad coverage or even legal trouble if any of them catch wind.

Guys, by his OWN ADMISSION about the extra tubes of ink and cold brew he ordered, it takes a few WEEKS to even fulfill an order. I personally worked in product development for two different cosmetic companies and you need to order your product at least two months in advance of a launch. There’s fill time for the product in the tubes, packing the tubes into boxes, and then shipping alone is at least a week. So unless his new small brand is somehow making these products IN HOUSE, and they bypassed all LEGALLY REQUIRED product stability testing, and magically did everything to have ready to ship product in a week, HE IS LYING. IT CANNOT PHYSICALLY BE DONE. And again, i say this as someone who worked in specifically cosmetics product development. I cannot anymore with this “speculation,” he is straight up lying to you that he was working on that formula a week out from a launch.

There is NO way Beyoncé used his products.

From my understanding the way it's typically said is "Beyonce's makeup artist uses this product" or "JLo's artist uses this" when trying to get sort of a free promo when you know they've used your product before. You don't just say "Beyonce uses my product" because these performers do not know what their artists are using on their makeup or hair at any given time so it's not fair to claim an endorsement of use from the actual celebrity when they aren't the ones putting it on or choosing the products themselves.

The goal was for the brand to re-share his look so he can gain a following. For example he couldn’t afford a Kylie black lipstick so he used a cheaper black lipstick, tagged Kylie, photo was shared and people went to buy the product to create his look.

I paused the video for a bit just to say that the “promotional” pictures is a bit of a reach. The artist (unless they’re under a strict contract or they specified the products they trust/like to their MUA) doesn’t have to know the brand that was used on them. Their MUA can use any brand they like and/or trust on their clients, all they have to do is ask consent in posting their pictures on their social medias where they will most like list the products they used. From high end to indie brands have reposted and enjoyed that bit of publicity when it comes to MUAs using their brands. James isn’t any different. We can criticize him for everything else except for that because Lancôme, Gucci, Valentino, and even Alamar Cosmetics have done the very same.

The shipping doesn’t surprise me honestly. A lot of brands will subsidize the cost of shipping to entice buyers to purchase. Shipping from the USA to Canada via First Class Package International costs me about $23 USD for anything 8oz to 32oz, which is equivalent to $31 CAD.
