My relatives lived over the road & I believe I also have relatives buried there. Although his mum & dad are no longer together, events not too long ago illustrated the torment & distress they still feel even after almost thirty years. My heart bleeds for them. Sadly there is no closure for them just horrific memories at the loss of their little angel. I mark my calendar in order that I can say a prayer for him . God Rest his gentle soul…..💔💕❤️

Every parents nightmare. What a beautiful tribute to a beautiful boy. I had the misfortune of Venables moving into a house behind me, when he was released back into society. As a nurse I was unable to tell my neighbours, who had 2 small sons. Made me ill with worry

Wasnt one returned after breaking his parole conditions from another prison sentence?

If there is one moment in time I wish I could go back to it would be to rescue this child from the cruel fate he suffered so pointlessly & needlessly. I cannot begin to imagine the agony his parents have suffered.

Such a historical & neat cemetery. Denise takes such good care of his gravesite. I can’t wait for the day she gets to see & hold her littles again. It is real, I had a NDE. It is very real, people. Live a good life, do your best and go home with our creator❤️

Much of what they did to poor James was kept out of public domain. Absolutely dreadful. In Norway a few years later a similar murder occurred of a little girl by two boys - the way it was dealt with was very different. I am so confused as to what is the most effective form of punishment, since there is no doubt that James and his parents could not have been punished more. Is revenge a healthy option? Yet I know if this had happened to my family I would be as embittered...which is why perhaps the law doesn't deal with emotions. RIP James, may your spirit live in your younger brother...x

Both boys did this aged ten and will be out when they are 25 years of age. How can any child be capable of committing such cruelty. What kind of childhood must they have had? Horrendous beyond comprehension. As a mother I cannot imagine what his mother lives through - daily.

James wasn't left to run around. He wandered out of the butcher shop as his mum paid for her purchase. Had she gone after him in the other direction she would have reached him with the two boys but sadly she didn't.

To many parents think a supermarket or shopping centre are play grounds for their children or let them go look at the toy isle or the toilet on their own. Oh Paul. Poor little baby, I can't imagine the pain his family live through. My thoughts with the servicemen too unimaginable what they went through and suffered.

When James name is mentioned I see the short black and white clip that was shown on the TV of James walking out of the centre. Reading James's fathers book from the first to the last page the tears keep on coming. How they managed to live after James is remarkable God Bless them. These monsters didn't just take James life they rip a family apart

Terribly sad. I looked up this cemetery because on Findagrave it said in an email I received today, that Kirkdale Cemetery in Liverpool had more photos added than any other. So, I looked it up wondering who had been laid to rest there. I also see that some of the crew of the Titanic are buried here. You never know where your genealogy work will take you. RIP James.
