  I met him in 1975, I loved his name but told him it was a bit 'puffy' for a boy he laughed and said well if you ever have a baby girl you could call her marcel, and that's just what I did in 1982 I named my baby Marcelle. RIEP Marcel King GBNF

  Thanks. A comic legend. I aways enjoyed watching him. Did you know the actress Violet Carson was also buried there? Playing one of the most memorable characters in "Coronation Street," she was the ever morose Martha Longhurst, one of the Ena Sharples "Snug Cronies." She was always in her element as the gossipy type, playing off to the dominant Carson) and the mousy Minnie (Margot Bryant).

  In a way a little sad having no marker, I also grew up with Less kellett watching him on Saturday afternoon with Kent Walton commentating. Once again a little sad but the passing of people is sad.

  Ken Jones was a wonderful comedic actor. So funny. I think I first saw him in The Squirrels, which really appealed as I was working in an office and could relate. I was trying to find out what had happened to Ken and was sorry to learn of his passing. So talented. R.I.P. and thank you for the many laughs.

  I remember his character ' Bomber ' from Auf wiedersehen liked the reference on the stone. Brilliant series, one of the best, the guys camaraderie was portrayed beautifully. Bromsgrove is just down the road from me, a good friend of ours is buried at Bromsgrove cemetery he lived in Bromsgrove all his life and was a campanologist at St John's. Bless them both ❤ Bromsgrove is literally down the road from the Lickey hills where I love to go walking, just beautiful.

  I would do a tad more research if I were you. He is probably buried in the graveyard, but NOT where the headstone is. I am York-born and bred, and this cropped up when I was still at junior school in the 60's.

  I am fully aware as on my other channel in a future video you will see an official guide telling you about the graveyard, this was a quick visit as stated at the beginning of the video not a full documentary, so thank you for the unnecessary comment

  Good of you to cover this Paul. Don't know too much about Dick Turpin, but I did love the romanticised TV drama in which Richard O' Sullivan played him (loved the guy who played his sidekick Swiftnick he was cute) Very interesting place York, so much of it's history still there to be seen in the buildings etc, will certainly visit. Thank you Paul 😊
