So lucky to live in that generation of music. I live in this crappy generation with crappy music
If you've been hiding under a rock, then you need too bring yo'azz out and get into the groove, it's all about the funk and it's plenty of funk to pass on to the next level...

James Brown; May 3, 1933 - December 25, 2006 For those who haven't noticed, this isn't one episode. It's a bunch of segments strung together. JB appeared on "Soul Train" February 10, 1973, February 17, 1973, May 5, 1973, and September 14, 1974.

I always wondered why Bobby Byrd wasn’t with him on soul train, then realized this was after the incident that made Byrd walk away from him.... Too bad because Mr. Byrd was dynamic in his own right as well.... And Mr. Danny Ray was the only emcee to ever be as powerful on stage. He was a true Gem that world could never replace. I've never been clear on when/why Byrd left. What actually happened? The good news is that in 2001, they got together again to record "Killing Is Out, School Is In." Also, JB gave Bobby a shout-out in the 1975 re-recording of "Sex Machine.

@@modernretroradio993 according to the movie (not fully truthful according to his autobiography from the late 80’s /early 90’s found in old library archives.), when James told Bobby that he could’ve had Vickie Anderson if he wanted to.... And James constant mood swings and selfishness with the money, as well as a lot of song credits not being properly listed. Bobby and the other flames wrote a lot of those songs. But King records were only interested in him. There’s even documentation of the 5 royales suing James for using their songs “think.”

@@Jamaicanbaan31 I can certainly believe that. It is well documented that James Brown went on an outright plagiarism spree in the mid-'70s when he panicked because he was no longer the top dog commercially. He stole "JB's Monorail" from BT Express ("Express"); JB stole "Hot!" from David Bowie ("Fame"); he stole "Makin' Love" from Ohio Players ("Skin Tight"). He's still the Godfather, though. He was just highly over-self-protective and insecure at times.
