James Bond vs Thomas Shelby Walking Style-Top 10 Tips

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

James Bond vs Thomas Shelby Walking Style-Top 10 Tips. Compare Daniel Craig's James Bond and Cillian Murphy's Thomas Shelby from Peaky Blinders. Both have a masculine walking style that is considered to represent the dominant alpha male. I will use my earlier Top 10 Walking Tips video to compare and contrast their two walking styles and see which aspects you may want to emulate, and which you should avoid. Which of these characters has the healthier walking style.
#peakyblinders #thomasshelby #jamesbond
We will compare the following:
1. Eye Gaze and Head Position
2. Shoulder Position
3. Relaxed Arm Swing
4. Vertical Posture
5. Level Pelvis
6. Foot Position
7. Gentle Heel Placement
8. Proper Footwear
9. Walking For Exercise
10. How to Improve Your Walking Technique
00:00 Introduction
01:32 Eyes Forward
02:28 Shoulders Back and Down
03:10 Relaxed Arm Swing
03:58 Vertical Posture
04:22 Feet Facing Forward
05:36 Level the Pelvis
06:23 Gentle Heel Contact
07:25 Proper Footwear
08:38 Walk For Exercise
09:32 Walking Code Online Course
I did skip Tip #5, which was how to use the core, because that isn't something I could compare with the two characters, which is why there is a missing number in the top 10 tips.
Proper walking technique keeps the spine and other joints aligned. This reduces stress on the joints so they can remain healthy over a long lifetime. Problems like knee arthritis, plantar fasciitis, chronic back pain, and neck pain are getting more and more common. Part of the problem is people do not focus on the way they walk, which has a profound impact on the health of the joints. Following these tips will help you develop a safe and healthy walking style. Hello! I'm new to your channel. I appreciate your willingness to share your knowledge. At 66, I do have posture issues, as I am an avid handicrafter. And, oh no! I walk like a duck! You have inspired and challenged me to do better. Thank you.

This video was fun, thank you. Can you talk about the action of the toes while walking? My toes curl or clinch. I noticed that yours, and I've seen other people's, point upward as the front foot comes forward. Is this what toes are supposed to do?

  • @ToddMartinMD

I am glad you enjoyed it. You really shouldn’t think too much about your toes since they are just following the rest of your body. I do know mine sometimes point up at a certain point of the step. I will consider a video on it.

This video is very engaging and informative, and shows impressive editing skill. To me Murphy's head down looking up through brows walk with arm swinging across their body is an oft used thespian technique for an actor (or actress) trying to portray being physically capable. I think in real life it would seem like someone pretending to be something they are not (a bad Idea because genuine tough guys will see through such a pretense). Craig's 007 looks much more authentically capable, and he usually has the correct foot alignment even though he has an awful lot of muscle (bodybuilders are often caricatured as duck footed).

Thanks. I am glad you enjoyed it. Good comments. I do think some of the style is just part of character portrayal, especially the looking down. It may make them look more introspective. The duck footedness is usually something more fixed and part of their normal walking technique. The degree to which both of them do it is variable, but I think it made for a nice back drop for a gait discussion.

It seems like attitude is part of the difference somewhat. Structurally differences between genders seem very mild in terms of how they walk if it exists at all. It’s interesting difference between what is structural vs due to clothing vs attitude or culture or learned concepts of how to move.

  • @ToddMartinMD

A lot of the difference is attitude and affectation. Most men and women walk with very little difference assuming they are wearing neutral clothes and basic. Women can accentuate there will sway intentionally be doing certain things when they walk. When the go to the gym i’m sweats, they don’t walk the same.

Thanks. I have several different shoes in this video. The colored ones are my Vans, which is what I wear all the time. There are a pair of black shoes that I used to use, which I don’t wear any longer. I think they are Sketchers. The third pair, when I am wearing the long coat, are tango dance shoes.

@vishwasjoshi7548 My Vans are my walking shoes, and I love them because there is no heel or added arch, so they don’t alter my gait much. The black canvas shoes in the video I used to wear for work, but I am not a fan of the heel, so I don’t wear them any longer. I think if you have good walking technique, it is best to have as little manipulation in the shoe as possible. I don’t think you need to go with minimalist shoes.

The surgeons website, referring to the lack of arch support and dress shoes? I believe the necessity, for this is somewhat nuanced, isn’t it? Most of your sneakers that you wear in your videos appear to have a flat, soul, however, some of them look like they are elevated to the rear, such as having the same effect as having a heel what would be the difference?

  • @ToddMartinMD

    @ToddMartinMD

    2 ай бұрын

It is nuanced. But the slight heel rise on my black sneakers in the video is small relative to most all dress shoes, and I actually don’t use those type of shoes any more. Those shots were from a couple years ago. Foot doctors recommend arch support, and that is probably necessary for many people, especially the type of people who end up at a foot surgeon. I don’t personally like or need arch support. The high and hard heel and the pointed toes are what I find worse about men’s dress shoes.

What are your views on the importance of having wide toe spread? I notice you sometimes wear conventional shoes like vans, is having our shape re-moulded to these commercial shoes not as detrimental as barefoot vegans make out?

  • @ToddMartinMD

    @ToddMartinMD

    2 ай бұрын

Studies do show that most people wear shoes that are too narrow, up to 40 percent of men and something like 60-80 percent of women. I do think having shoes that are fit well is important, but I think the issue is exaggerated. I happen to have very narrow feet, so the Vans are perfect and they have little to no heel rise, which I like. A shoe company that specializes in wide toe box sent me a pair to do a review, and their narrowest pair kept slipping off my feet, so I couldn’t even wear them.
