I think at the end Finneas was actually goin to the theater to see James perform. The billboard said James was performing tonight. It shows that those who we may be jealous of actually aren't as cold and they don't have anything against us, they may even like us but we choose not to see it. Sidenote, finn and James are good friends and no one should take this vid literally.

@@bananapie4344 And I'm okay with the life of the sunflower And I'm okay with the life of a meteor shower Compared to a meteor shower a sunflower is common and not as glamorous. He works in an industry where everybody is constantly compared to all the 'meteor showers' in the sky, the big stars, i think he is probably saying he's ok with living a more common life and is happy with being appreciated the way people would appreciate a sunflower, it's enough for him. But that doesn't mean he has something against being a 'meteor shower' like Finneas in this mv, he would appreciate whatever beauty / success he finds in life, he doesn't look down on the life of a guy like Finneas. He's not trying to be 'indie' or anything and be 'above' the mainstream. He's happy with whatever sort of beauty life gives him. The meteor shower line could also mean that he is ok with just having '15 minutes of fame'. He doesn't need to be a permanent star shining in the sky.

I am a 70 year old woman and this song relates to so many of us growing up taking the knocks but hopefully bouncing back ,and that high note at the end was amazing a very talented and gifted young man 🎶🎵🎼

Have you noticed how they used colors to show the transition from a sad and jealous Blake to a redemptive one? Blake wears blue for almost the entire video, until the concert part (the redemption!) when he finally accepts his life the way it is, then the color palette becomes green. According to the color symbolism in western culture, blue may be associated with sadness, while green is commonly associated with healing and hope.

I grew up your biggest fan, I found your music at age 20 and instantly felt it in my soul. Told anyone that would listen to me about you, all the way back to Air and Lack Thereof. I had a really awful childhood where everyone that was supposed to love me hurt me. I grew up with a sick, twisted definition of love. I was so depressed for years and you and Tame Impala really got me through so much. Im 30 now and I've pulled through over the last few years and I feel so much better, but everytime I hear a James Blake song it sparks so many emotions and reminds me where I came from. Last November I got married to the man of dreams, and I'll Come Too was our wedding song. Now when I hear this James Blake song I tear up like I used to with Lindisfarne or or Why don't you call me, but now I cry happy tears feeling happiness and evolution in myself. James blake finally singing love songs and Justin getting married and finally happy, what a concept.

I struggle with this on a daily basis at varying levels of depth, it gets to be quite rough honestly

Im seeing him in September, even bought vip since I’m going by myself and would prefer a bit more privacy. This guys music has been so impactful in my life. Lots of ups and downs and his tunes always felt comforting, not sad or melancholy. They felt like a warm hug. I’m rambling on but I truly hope to see a full concert, he deserves to sell out and for more people to discover his art.

In one of his live Instagram performances, James said that the song is about being happy in the place you're at even if it's not the place you expected to be

When many have looked up to you, it can be hard to know how to look at yourself.

Wouldn't ever be surprised if either Frank Ocean or Thom Yorke collabs with James Blake. Coldplay is dismissed.

My brain couldn't even allow me to understand why anyone would love Finneas more than they love James Blake ......like why? I mean James' transition from where he once was to where he's at now it's much more of an interesting journey to fame and fortune than Finneas'. James used to have this way about him that made him seem like this closed off timid introvert who loves to focus on his beats and/or compositions and his content/depth in his lyrics, but when he speaks to people lately as opposed to some of his earlier interviews he's shown us how much more comfortable he is and he seems to be the coolest most down to earth guy in the music industry right now. I've always loved James Blake.

"I can find my way, with no superpowers" This line keeps me going.

This song has brought significant feelings to me. This song encapsulates how we all feel - especially in the days of social media and instant gratification. The happier you are with yourself and who you have become the more meaningful life becomes, the more confident you become, when you grow to love yourself dearly there is no better feeling in the world. You are all special, you are all meaningful, life is beautiful, please enjoy.

i've never seen a video that sums up my life as an artist more accurately. the comparisons and internal jealousy that we all experience can be crippling. i remember a few years back, i won album of the year at an awards show, and yet this other more successful artist took home 6 awards that night and cleaned up the international scene... i've felt exactly like the james in this film on a lower scale and it's so paralyzing at times. to compare yourself to others is to commit suicide to your artistic vision.

But hey, most people prefer catchy over beautiful. You create music for these, who expect more than catchy. That's what we adore you for. Thank you James for being you ❤️

2013 was the first time I listened to James Blake. I've forgotten about him for years now, and now I'm blessed to have stumbled upon his music, once again.

Holly hell, that hight note! That was one of the best sounds I have ever heard and I have listened to Unluck in 2AM.

I started listening to you because of my ex. He showed me your songs, the first one was if the car beside you moves ahead. Ngl, the mv and vocals in it scares me, more like triggers me every time i hear it, and we tend to believe in our heads that, that song was such bad luck to us and we both agreed to skip on it lol. But for real, it was just too good to wake us from inside and just you know become just vulnerable, and visible see thru shit that we didn't know how to handle. We were afraid to let that song expose us. I would always ask him, "would you ever hurt me?" He would say, "Physically? Never." And i would follow up with "Mentally tho?" And his answer was always, "Yeh, James Blake. Lol" You are such a crooked wire inside my head, knotted and such a pain but i never knew i needed you, your music, thank you so much for being existing. Without your music, I would have never made it alive during my darkest, lowest times, like i would be missing a wire to function. And also to my ex, thank you and yeh you know the rest...

James is truly one of the greats. I will be playing him around my house in my 80s... if life spares.
