Thanks for pointing out that the voice actress for Chihiro is Lilo from Lilo and Stitch! That's awesome!

Watching that scene with the Witch confronting Haku after you pointed out the Disney voice actors, I can totally see why I found the interaction so eerily familiar when I first watched it! I can totally hear Zira and Kovu there.

Once again congratulations on reaching 4000 subscribers on your channel. Spirited Away is one of my favourite Ghibli films with bizarre visuals, stunning animation and superb voice acting.

I can whole-heartedly agree with you that this movie's biggest strength is how much room it leaves open for interpretation. One of my interpretations of the movie is when No Face comes into the background, seeking nourishment in exchange for gold, and everyone is eager to indulge him while mungering off his riches, and it ultimately turns him into something hideous. Ultimately though, it is Chihiro who reaches his soul through true kindness and reasoning, which in turn, causes all the members of the bathhouse to start seeing her as something more than what they initially perceived her to be. This, I think, is a comment on how greedy and corrupt our society can really be (especially when it comes to mass-producing multiple things, including films) and how individuals pure at heart can reach each other and make the biggest change.

When I dream I always write my what happened in it down (like it is said in Your Name, you forget them fast if you don't)... and they are mostly boring, I get lost a lot. Alice in wonderland could also be interpreted as Alice discovering the absurdity of the (victorian era) adult world, and since people often compare Spirited Away to this story, I find the comparaison fitting. I always interpreted it as Chihiro discovering the more traditionnal side of japan, since she comes from the city and adapting to a new environment can be hard.

I was surprised at the vomit scene. I can imagine the animators going to lunch after working on that scene. Every texture Another reason for Daveigh Chase's poor performance was the dubbing. She had never dubbed before, and we all know how incredibly difficult dubbing is. You noticed in that clip with the baby, she is speaking really fast to keep up. Too fast. It doesn't sound real. Maybe if the dialogue was written differently, it would've been better.

I don't think thats hard, this movie had a world-wide release with Disney doing the dubbing work, actualy, Disney kinda owns the distribution of all Ghibli movies, which means they handle all the translation and non-japanese voice acting.
