Jamaican Style Curry Goat | Fluffy Basmati Rice | Feed & Teach

As promised! I did a curry today. Hope you enjoy(ed) it!
This my tenth video. It's a small milestone but it took a lot of work to get here and I am going to celebrate it just the same. Thanks for the support and I will keep working on improving the quality of the content!

Another trick I learnt on Good eats from Alton Brown to cook baskets rice quickly is to toast the rice in butter and then add boiling water directly into the pot after toasting the rice. Toasting the rice breaks open the grain allowing the water to penetrate faster. Still steam, but for much shorter. Try it. Cut my rice cooking time in half.

I really like toasting first, the flavour is nuttier. I love that technique but it's still a fair bit of active time even though the rice cooks quicker. I have to toast the rice and still get water up to boiling temperature versus just putting on a pot and forgetting it for 15 minutes. Nevertheless I still love the complex flavours 👌🏾💯

It stays in the food. You can remove it if you want to, though it may be the consuming.
