When I lived in Manchester UK, back in the late 70's and 80's my Jamaican friends used to cook these dumplings. Beautiful with ackee and saltfish, or chicken or beef. My friends used to call them Wagon wheels. Ital food.

@@rachelhomie4336 Try making the dough ahead of time and letting it rest for at least 30 mins. I found this helps my dumpling smoother and look more appetising lol. I also find sometimes certain brands of flour makes the dumpling have a nicer texture than others. Hope that helps.❤️

Mi wan rice” I hollered!😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣 let me pull out this rice cooker. I couldn’t do rice in a pot either but that’s a story for another time. 😂🤣😂🤣😂

I had a jamaican guy friend, he use to make Jamaican Dumplin and Salt fish. It was very good, it's wonderful to taste a different kind of cooking and Carribean is one of the best! But the only thing I use to complain about, was that the Dumplings needed seasoning otherwise they taste too plain and bland like boiled dough, so he begin making them with seasoning and I find them tastier that way. Looks like he enjoyed them as well, I learnt something new fron him, making carribean meals and he learnt alittle something from me as well.😊😉

Jamaicans make me laugh sometimes and I meal this respectfully.. This is just an observation.. You look at a recipe with a different person and they say " THIS IS THE REAL JAMAICAN BLAH BLAH" then you read the comment and some other Jamaican criticizes the person making the food and say " you didn't use smelt flour'" or "where's the cornmeal" Cracks me up LOL.. I had a friend mothers straight from Jamaica come and make dumpling and she added cornmeal to the flour so what is real? I say as long as it taste good and it holds together. Yours look easy so imma do this on.. I cant remember who much cornmeal to add so this will due for my lentil soup Jamaican style..
