I am so glad to see Miss Jamacia Kincaid this woman writer from Antigua. I am writing myself into history just like Miss Kincaid. I have a writing blog and I am writing a memoir I call, Ayesha's Story: The SZ Memoirs.
i love this woman her books are so wonderful
Love, love, JK, everytime I read this book, I get different understandings, she is blessed with a wonderful 'knowing'!🥳💜

I can't stand Charlie rose, don't know why he was so lauded and turned out to be a creep!

And she didn’t care to correct him once. Maybe Antigua is simply a memory she would rather leave behind.

Then she’s wants to be an English girl. Nothing wrong with that I guess since her nation was owned by the British. She faced identity crisis and or issues. Has nothing to do with black Americans or America in and of itself at all.

She said um and uh way too often I couldn’t focus on what she was saying.

She was redundant but that’s irrelevant to the larger message. I’m sure you’ve got out of it more than um and uh. She’s not of the group she was naming black, colored, negro etc are for black Americans not West Indians. They tend to merge our stories and histories and that a fallacy to do so. We all have different stories and histories and aren’t the same anything. For some reason some caribbean people do not understand their own unique histories without trying or attempting to flatten their histories and existence against black America. This is an issue and I’m sure she’s educated enough to know better. If you come to this country even as a black person it doesn’t mean you’re a native black American or have any shared ancestry or blood ties or relations. Black doesn’t mean anything but social constructs for political reason and stigmas is all.
