My maternal Grandfather had 7 winning Int. Jumpers. I've had one (so far). Granda Tommy never jumped a pony or a horse over too small in height the jump. We made our own. Horsemen have no money! 80cm up for 14.2 hh and for a horse 90 cm or 1 metre minimum. CALVARO STAR (Archie was 163 cm age 4 and 165 cm age 5. Age 2 he was only 158 cm. You only need a good enough horse. From age 4, in height, 158 cm to 165 cm. I took C. S. lightly age 4. All 90 cm and one 1 metre outdoor suumer. I would change now and up it 10 cm as I knew I had a Good Jumper and looked after him a bit too well. Age 5 Linda Courtney-Cade jumped him too much. He qualified for all six major five year old finals in Ireland including Laneken in Belgium. 6 mths after I gave him away he near won the 5 yo Final, 6th. Last pole down. Too fast Rolf-Goren Ben. Took a risk. The horse or pony uses their body better should the jump be a bit higher and less jumps. Not flatten over them. A Jumper most get up in the air. A rounded canter. Stephen Hadley said "Like A Bend Whip". Leg on and Horses inside hind leg under. Implosion not speed. And keep in The Centre of the jump. Follow a imagined line from jump to jump, around the corner (left rein). Rider Most Consintrate and pony too. Both most try too. But even Miton had the the odd big jump down but not when it really mattered. When on Top form 👍 Long season, yous will get there. Positives. You have your 1st 🥇 rosette of a potentially long season. Well Done 👏 and back to base safe and sound equals no. 1. Be safe. 👍
