@@djkellum12 The choreographers got it wrong... they had Jake put himself against the cage with arms down taking big shots, not defending himself for no reason, that in reality would drop a fighter... then Jake goes insane, punching his unconscious opponent over and over and over like the WWE. And of course the ref can't stop him. It's a complete failure. So unrealistic. Par for Hollywood tho.

There's an entire context missing (the entire movie that is being made) that will (hopefully) make that scene make a lot more sense. It honestly looks interesting because the crowd boos him at the end. Doesn't seem like a cliche fight where you're rooting for the hero.

Let me guess: the story is Jake's character kills this guy in a real fight, gets blackballed from fighting forever, winds up a bouncer at some obscure rough and tumble nightclub in the south, but, it turns out the club is owned by the biggest mobsters south of New Jersey and Jake, to protect a woman he falls in love with, has to tap back into the savage nature of his UFC days to take down the mob and save his girl. I wonder how wrong I'll be.

@@ReallyWinning More than a few, although I'm still a naive clueless newbie. The fight seemed completely surreal, and yet I was just blown away and my bs detector never activated. Only the first counterpunch to the body seemed strange and hard to understand to me. To my defense, the scene isn't that much more unbelievable than Mike Tyzon vs Frazier or Jorge Masdival vs Ben Askren.

I can't wait for road house this is gonna be amazing having the ufc in it

Proper punches look crap in movies. That's why. And ground-wrestling for minutes on end would never work in a movie either. There's also probably a time budget for how much screen time this will take up -- if you want a 1 minute long vignette of the guys days as an MMA fighter, you don't want much footage. Hollywood doesn't do realism because fight realism rarely works well in mainstream movies, if ever.
