I don't normally think of who broke my heart, just a time when I was 14 experiencing it all. Even now, 11 years with someone some love songs I listen to and I don't think of my partner, I just listen to the lyrics and think wow these are beautiful, these words, these feelings.

Jake has only dated 2 women who were much younger than him. 1st Taylor (their age gap isn’t even that much lol. I've never understood the hate on Jake. Like, yes, he was a bad boyfriend. But he's not a bad person. And someone's past relationship is none of people's business. Jake gave us great movies and a great Taylor album. You listen to music to make your personal life make sense a little more, and not to speculate around the artist's life.

With songs like Revenge of her 1 album, and Joe Jonas thing in Tv. And encourage to her fans take action to Scooter Braun, and the innocent little kids of him were cyberbulled. Katy thing, Jhon Mayer thing, (he will the next victim of cyberbulling) even her public angry tweet with a netflix show about a joke about her.....the producer of the show was cyberbulled. In those cases her indirects and silence incentive bullyng attacks of her inmature fans. Hayley Williams of Paramore for example wrote a song to advice to her fans don't believe that she's perfect and stop to idolize her and defender coz she can alone. That's a responsability action with her own fans but T.S always seems like a very vengative person. Sadly Olivia Rodrigo is following those steps of her idol.

Almost every ex of her's is on good terms with her, and the one's that aren't (e.g. Jake) have said that she's a wonderful person and that the songs she wrote were an accurate reflection of their relationship. Don't let that get in the way of your narrative.

Don't come at me , I won't even bother replying .I'm a fan of taylor and also like Jake Gyllenhaal, I don't think he said the song isn't about him but he means that he has got nothing to add in or his opinion on the song . It's about taylor and how she felt at the time and he's completely fine with it . He's not holding taylor accountable or anything, at the same time he thinks that cyber bullying him or anyone like that was not okay in anyway . Some comments that I personally saw were pretty sabotaging and hurtful about him . While I would never justify his behavior in the relationship, I also think that I cannot completely judge his personality based on a 10 min song . People make mistakes and they grow and he doesn't deserve so much hate over a 10 year d relationship. I personally think that he did handle this question in the most civil way possible.

I remember the massive crush I harbored for Jake from the age of about 14 or 15. I'm 37 now, still find him to be one of my favorite actors and still handsome. Some people are sucky boyfriends, some dudes break hearts and thrive on it. I never held any negative feelings towards him as a person because he hurt Taylor --- BUT I'll admit, once I realized this song was inspired by their relationship, I felt very sad for her because I can't even imagine how smitten she must've been with that man, how easy it would've been for him to mess with her head, and how gut-wrenching that break-up had to have felt. I'm sure it still hurts her and always will, he's her one person you never quite get over. 💔

Okay look, when he said "it has nothing to do with me" he obviously didn't mean it wasn't about him, he meant that this is her job. It's what singers/song-writers do. They take a situation they were faced with, they romanticize it/overdramatize it to make it into something everyone will pay attention to. That's literally Taylor's job, so yes, it has nothing to do with him in that way. I have nothing against her, but I have plenty against her toxic fans that send death threats to people just because Taylor said she didn't like that person. Those people give all of her decent fans a bad name. That being said, Jake's right, she needs to at least speak out against all the hate he's being faced with as a result of this whole thing.

That song is absolutely about Jake. There is a lot of information in the song and the video that makes that VERY clear. It is very specific and not at all vague. Besides, she was dating HIM when she turned 21! Nobody else. Which is what it is. I wouldn't want to write songs about any of my exes or have them write songs about me but I suppose you should consider that before dating her especially, since she very much writes songs about her exes. But certainly nobody should be cyberbullying him back then and certainly not now. He is right that you should be responsible for what you put out in the world. Especially, when it's very obvious exactly who the song is about. Many other artists are far less obvious about who a song may or may not be about. Since they were both in the "public eye" it was rather hard to keep things private as it was. It doesn't paint a picture of a person who was a good boyfriend but that doesn't mean that is how he always is and certainly not how he is that much later. Relationships are complicated. I keep mine very private but I'm not famous and I definitely don't write songs so I have that definite choice.

It’s not obsession. It’s a re-record and a fan service for a fan-favorite song. And she has definitely been criticized for having a frightening behavior, not just for this, but for all of her other break-up songs because people are assuming she’s just created these songs at present when they’re 12 years old. She’s over it, but she is tapping back to her previous work so naturally, it comes up again (and non-fans are out here doing the most with judging her) She was also really young when it happened so I imagine her first real heartbreak brought up some fucked up emotions. Why are girls always criticized for having intense emotions at a young age? I agree with the latter half though, she should have been more keen on telling fans to stay calm. The comment harassment is not okay and she should know that because she has endured that kind of treatment before. That’s the thing I could never understand her for.

I think what is a commented on the early enough, is the way that she MARKETS her songs. She plays directly into her fans behavior, she tells them it’s all for them. I know i’m kind of late to the game, but their relationship was actually longer than 3 months it was around 8 months, off and on, I feel like most people don’t know that. I am not a fan of Taylor Swift, in fact I think she’s annoying and incredibly selfish. But, the things she talks about in All Too Well really shouldn’t be taken as a grain of salt if you’re a fan of Jake. Watching the short film based on that song REALLY opened my eyes. There was also a story an 22 year old intern wrote a few years back about her personal experience working alongside a much older Jake Gyllenhaal and he was.. manipulative and creepy to say the least. To add on to this, there have been other allegations made against him before (nothing solid, but still should keep note of) and it almost seemed like there was going to be a #MeToo about him but it all went away. His history of MUCH younger girlfriends is also questionable as well, Dicaprio type vibe. I fell in love with just about every movie Jake has taken part in and he is incredibly talented but the way he treats young women is terrible. And that article the intern wrote is DAMNING, Im surprised there hasn’t been much of an uproar.

Why a person who is happy at the moment would release her past songs/albums about past relationships? It would have been disappointing for a current partner at least. Seems like she has nothing to do or she is bored, that she decided to reminisce all of these moments in detail? Why talk/sing/recall about your ex when you have a partner at the moment? You can't justify it by saying "I'm a creative person, I need to produce music". Like wtf. It would have been very offending for Joe Alwyn to have such a passion for past relationship and revealing even more details. Like how has he even perceived it?!?!

Seriously, what was he supposed to do. Stay with her even though he was “ not that into her”. That’s a true narcissist. Taylor does a lighter version of what Glenn Close did in Fatal Attraction. Why she gets accolades for it, I’ll never understand.

the song isn’t about her relationship with her fans, but she stated that she now thinks of them when singing the song after seeing them scream the lyrics, taking pictures of their exes and ripping them during the performance, writing the lyrics on their arms for a concert, or even getting it tattooed on their wrist, or something. when taylor writes a song about an ex, it’s not about them anymore once she releases it. it’s about who her fans relate the song to in their life. she never says who a breakup song is about because she wants people to think of their ex, and not hers. i think that’s what he meant by it being about her fans.

This is why I can’t listen to Taylor Swift. Her obnoxious fans I feel ruin her more than embrace her. Every time I hear her music now, all I can remember is them. I especially hate how so many defend the fact that she can insult men whereas the guys can never do that cuz they’re all “misogynists”. Im a huge fan of Taylor’s music but let it go… was the short movie necessary, I’m sorry but not. That’s my opinion. Still love Taylor Swift work, that doesn’t mean I will blindly accept everything she does without criticism.

@@ranah7234 it’s not just the fans, her fans aren’t his fans so it’s not that bad in that way, they move in very different circles but the media asked him AGAIN about this and Taylor knows this would happen. She could’ve chosen a different song to make a short film, she chose this one on purpose. And I just think she should get over it… everyone had bad relationships, everyone did someone wrong at some point, we need to move on. It’s not a good example and she comes off as vindictive and childish. She doesn’t need that, she’s a great singer songwriter and she is in a great place now with a wonderful relationship… I didn’t like it. But again, those are my feelings about it.

@@alicemestria4373 i really respect your pov, but for me I think it’s the opposite , bc from what i heard that when red comes out in 2012 the fans ask Taylor for an mv for the song and the 10 min version but she said it’s too personal so she can’t make it an mv and she used to cry whenever she sang it ,but now she is able to sang it with a smile in her face and made it into a single mean to me that she moved on along time ago and she is just having fun making art and giving her fans what the ask for , but I agree that she knew her fan would make a miss out of it but she just choose to ignore it

I hate her and Selena... just like other people, they date and break up, sometimes just for fun. But Tyler and Selena take advantage of this to argue online. Even now people are still attacking Jake and Justin! .. Firstly, fans have nothing to do with these private things. Secondly, Jake has a right. Celebrities should teach their fans not to bully. Thirdly, the man is not always the reason for ending the relationship, so men are attacked every time.

​​I disagree, Jake never seemed to have avoided responsibility about his side of wrongs. He even said at one point that the album was a "fairly accurate" representation of the relationship. If Taylor can grow, so can he. Taylor literally alludes to her own wrongs like her infidelities with past partners now but nobody bats an eye and everyone's supportive of her being a human being who makes mistakes, so it's really strange that guys who Taylor dated and are not exactly in good terms with are villainized to oblivion when they also have chances to mature and grow. I like Taylor and I enjoy some of her music, but the way she and her team handles/markets/presents some things are really quite questionable. I love that she is reclaiming her music, but is creating a music video that could not have been any more obvious really necessary? Sure, she wanted her fans to have it, but she also knew exactly what was going to happen when she puts it out there for the world to see, and proceeded to let it happen because she cannot be bothered to think how it's going to be for the other person because she's just chilling now (paraphrasing what she said in her Seth Meyers interview). Doesn't sound like a decent thing to do honestly, but she gets away with it. I think Jake gave a very thoughtful, level-headed response. He has been gracious without trying to shift any blame on (God knows) what really happened, and he sounds like he just wants to move on with his life. Taylor swift is one of the biggest artists in the world, with an insanely massive following, and when you have pull like that, you really have to take responsibility for the things you put out there.
