he's had so many amazing roles, i really think his good looks keep him from being taken seriously like leo dicaprio once was. prisoners, enemy, nightcrawler, nocturnal animals, wildlife, all great movies in which he was wonderful in, ignored by the press. only brokeback mountain was recognized. it's kinda sad. hope he at least gets a second nomination soon

Gyllenhaal is SO good, most of the time he takes risky decisions as an actor and just goes with them. He's a breath of fresh air in an industry that's becoming more and more stale.

Jake Gyllenhaal is one of the best actors of our generation. So under appreciated. His indie roles are better though.

I don't know about other people, but I find actors and other celebrities that come off a little awkward and nervous in interviews to be a bit more genuine. Being an actor can be tough, but it's usually what they love to do. It doesn't mean they love being the center of attention whenever possible, especially when there's a crowd involved. It's like, "hey, there's a real person there." what makes me "cringe" (as some seem to like to say) is when you have a person who is so high on themsleves they expect everyone to cater to them and be submissive to the point they can't tolerate people making playful jabs or challenging them in any way, shape, or form without clutching their pearls. So, yeah. I like Jake. Seems like a down to earth and decent guy.

I did not know that Gyllenhaal is such a blast in interviews. Hilarious, and Colbert knows it!

I dunno why I presumed he would be this introverted weirdo during interviews, but he seems to be a very level headed chill guy.

Nissmah Roshdy the first movie I even saw him in was “Nightcrawler” so I always thought he was like that in real life for some reason and whenever I watch his interviews I always expect a super creepy anti social guy but I’m always surprised and then remember that he was just playing a character 😂

Man! I will never forget his performance in Nightcrawler Prisoners Nocturnal animals Enemy But i haven't seen brockback mountain but that is amazing too

I've yet to find another actor who is as awesome in a music video (The Shoes: Time To Dance) as he is in a Marvel movie. One of the best things about this guy is that even after being Mysterio, he could be back next month in an incredible movie no one ever heard of, and he'll give it everything. I always get the feeling that he's genuinely in it for the chance to tell great stories and give dimension to compelling characters. He's a real artist.

Love the fact Jake gets Jim to throw to a clip XD You know a guest is beloved when.

lit af I think that's what makes him so attractive to many people. He has incredible masculine features but has that sweet and soft somewhat goofy personality.

The sequel to Brokeback mountain must now contain Jake and Stephen

Jake is always brilliant. This is an awkward interview made so by Colbert flirting with him. Jake is just reflecting this throughout as a kind of friendly banter.

For "Nightcrawler" he should have won an Oscar. Amazing performance.

Those Gyllenhaals have amazing hair. I love it when he and Ryan Reynolds work together - they are like an old comedy duo.

This interview is entirely and absolutely wonderful! Jake and Stephen work so well together and it all comes off so natural. I'm so freaking excited for Far From Home!

Gyllenhaal is an absolute force nature with his acting. His presence in Far from Home makes me so much more excited to see it.

in prince of persia movie - he was also a superhero ..good to see him in MCU it will be a great movie
