Jak X: Unused Levels - Garage and Lounge! (GARAGE and GARAGEB)

Found this a long while ago, but then more interesting things happened, and I just forgot about it. Here it is now, anyway. I decided to show these two levels in one video, because they are connected. It is so cool how much detail they put in these levels, considering that they were (likely?) supposed to be just for some pre-rendered cutscenes. They are less creepy than the Bloody Hook, but still creepy a little bit. That static noise in the TVs may have something to do with this.

    Would have been cool if we could walk around if Jak X had an used on foot segment

    Hope we can get these files of the area to work with custom levels in Jak1, would be RAD

    Somewhere/somehow I acquired all models of Jak 1/2/3, so with enough effort those could be made as "custom" levels in Jak 1 in OpenGOAL. I don't have anything for Jak X yet. But once OpenGOAL reaches Jak 3, extraction of Jak X level models will also be possible - those two games are very close to each other.

    @@LuminarLight I'm Glad that Jak is getting so much attention tyese years, if they can successfully extract And decompile Jak 2, Jak 3 should also be a breeze since it's the same coding with a few added touches, i think Don't know much about the coding difference between the two besides new levels and weapons and mechanics 😅but it should be easier for them

    Thank you for reminding me I want a 100% in-engine version of Jak X. I wouldn't mind a few extra seconds of loading, just for that.

    I wonder if other files from cutscenes are still there, maybe if the animations files are still there we could recreate the cutscenes in-engine in better quality

    No animation files are present for the cutscenes. And I have videos about some other cutscene areas left in the game. Jak X Unused level - search on my channel, there should be a playlist as well? Most cutscenes would be too demanding to recreate. They used devkit, and some sorcery. I heard for the intro scene, the cars were driven by different developers?

    Wait, I'm pretty sure the "garage" map is used when you go to select a vehicle before each race. Or is it a completely different map? (GarageB does look unused)

    Please Do this look around with New Haven City on Jak X to see what all has changed since Haven City in Jak 2 and 3 please.

    The Haven City in Jak X is completely different. The only part that has some resemblance to the original Haven City is the Port area.

    I am not sure where you heard that. He wants to release it himself. I made a KZread post some time ago, it explains more.

    This is so dang cool!!! I am very impressed. As a kid I've always wanted to explore these areas more and see all of the details. Bravo 👏 Also, how are you able to have free camera in Jak X? Is it with an emulator or the PS2 Dev kit?

    All real Jak games have a built-in external camera feature. By changing a variable from false to true (or anything but not false), it automatically gets enabled. In this case I was running the game in PCSX2, and changed that variable with Cheat Engine (because apparently my Jak and Daxter PCSX2 Trainer does not have this for Jak X for some reason).

    You know, Jak X would've definitely been better if it had a Chill Zone for characters but hey it was the PS2, not much they could've done back then.

    They could have done that, but sadly it was never planned in Jak X. I always wonder what would Jak X be like if it was made with on-foot open world elements in mind.

    @@LuminarLight Yeah, btw do you think Jak 4 should be a Pixar Style game? Because I wouldn't mind Photorealistic Environments but when it comes to character models, they should stay cartoonish.
