Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy: 20th Anniversary Special - Demo Disc Trailer | PS5 [4K REMAKE]
On December 3rd, 2001, A New Legacy Began.
As a celebration of the legacy, I really wanted to do something to commemorate its 20th anniversary. As a kid, I owned a demo disc which contained the trailer to Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy. I was so immersed and it felt so magical to me that I used to watch it over and over. It immediately became my favourite game (now series) of all time, and remains to this day.
So after the great reception from you all for the Trilogy Movie remake, I’ve decided to take on the project on remaking this trailer. Unfortunately without using the original song since copyrights a huge issue, which I know takes away a huge part of the nostalgia..
However I decided to make it as though the trailer came out this year, as a 20th anniversary special for the PS5 and it used modern electronic music just like the PS3/PS4 Trailers. This trailer has been remade from scratch, including its graphic titles.
The gameplay scenes were all captured and cut frame by frame to look as closely as possible to the original trailer filled with details previously unseen, and made to look more exciting than ever thanks to 4k emulation.
This does not serve as a replacement but rather as an addition to the original video as i have taken some artistic liberties which change the original vision of this trailer slightly.

Thanks a lot! It was a tough one to not have the original music in because of copyrights. I've been working on this since January. I thought this music fit like a glove, and thats when I decided to do it as a recreation. Im really glad you enjoyed it!

I beat the whole trilogy recently then couldn't help after the end of jak 3 to restart the first. I think I have a problem but it feels so good!

How good it brings back memories when I was looking for my Platinum for my PS3/PS4 but I liked the trailer more with the Music of Dreamcatcher - In An Ocean of Joy

Thanks man! This is a shot-for-shot remake of the original Demo Disc Trailer in the best quality. I used a different song because of copyright issues.

I didn't get to see this as I was born in 2001 but I was able to see the jak 3 trailer but seeing this, I'm sure I missed out on some good trailers

The trailers back then were very simple. If you rewatch them now, they seem so silly because its just a compilation of gameplay with a little tune in the background. But perhaps its that simplicity which made them so great. This trailer stood out for me. It was a magical feeling. I did not manage to see the trailers for Jak 2 or 3 back then as I did not have the demo discs or the internet.

They were emulated in 4K to bring out the finest details from the PS3 and PS4 versions. Thats the whole point. The point was to have the exact demo disc trailer blurred from the PS2 version in 480p recreated in emulated 4K of the original game so that people can enjoy it in the best quality possible.
Kinda pathetic we didn't get anything for their 20th Anniversary. We should have gotten a remake or reboot for PS4/PS5

At least they acknowledged it. I never expect anything from ND when it comes to Jak now. We did get a Jak 3 statue this year (even though its super expensive) and the limited run collections last year. We deserve something global like a remake but it has to be from someone else who Sony trusts.
Can we get *MediEvil 2 Remake* already?
