Mr. Jaishankar is truly a man of the world, he understands and respects the views of everybody. Being from EU, it is most disconcerting to me that EU leaders react with more emotions than reason, even worse than the US. Being led by emotions (of which pride is one of the worst) is a huge hindrance in EU and it doesn't seem to be getting better. I wish people like mr. Jaishankar held positions in EU, too - I'm pretty sure many of the problems wouldn't even happen and if they did, there would be hope of a resolution. As it is... European leaders have no common sense and are just adding fuel to the fire where firefighters are needed.

Russian oil found market in India but Russia was paid through rupees and Russia could not use ruippes, hence Russian government reinvested ruppes back in India 👏👏. India refined the Russian crude and exported oil to needy countrys saved many countries 👍.

He was not a cadre member but but his allegiance is for what BJP stands for. He is surviving in his job for 2 reason 1. As you rightly said there no one like him and 2. He makes sure it is his boss who is the fountain head of all wisdom and that he is just an executor. Now you and I know, Modi's international profile is because of the witty and articulate Jai Shankar. If he continues the way and if BJP comes back to rule he will feel himself like a fish out of water unless he feels at home in the murky waters of BJP.

India's foreign minister is one of the smartest in the world, much smarter, and more practical, than the dolts we have in Washington. Washington is too entrenched in its own ideology (our way or the highway) which is not good for us, or the world.

FM says we "need to move on - time has come for that" but we must not forget the lessons of history that US is an unreliable ally as Israel is finding out - imagine being its "closest ally" and having weapons shipments stopped in the middle of a war foisted on oneself! The problem is that US will try to decide India's strategic interest and how far India is allowed to pursue it or how far India is allowed to go to secure its own citizens safety and its borders. In 77 years of history Russia never did that and was fully supportive through 3 wars. So India just needs to be friendly to all but an ally only to itself.

USSR u mean and they did bcoz of their cold war with US (as US choose Pak on its side), plus needed a regional friend plus INC extreme socialism utopic ideology leaders were almost used to idolize ussr/russia, But now when inc is not there, india getting more powerful than russia in world stage plus russia increasing dependence on China (tho it was one of unfriendly neighbour of russia in past when US had blessed hands over china & china also has border disputes with russia but even till today both russia, china need each other so won't push each other over that but russia knows china when become big enough then will surely push on that matter in future so that's why russia will continue to stay neutral choosing both india & china) so won't come that openly for india, instead would stay neutral; Thus at the end of the day be fanboy of own india, do whatever it takes & make relationships to fulfill own interests just like US, USSR/Russia, China do
