I am very surprised people dont know ARR uses live recordings for his songs. the instruments in his songs are all live recorded. the only computerized sound he uses are the beats. nothing wrong in using computer music. if thats wrong, then making instrument out of cow's skin is good? enna logic'ne teriyele.... but ofcource, A.R.Rahman love to be creative. he did use computerize nadaswaram sound in his Kummi Adi song from the film Sillunu oru kadhal. if you didnt realize that was computer sound and not real nadaswaram, unga argument about live and computer music falls flat. Raja long time over. ARR is still in the race giving beautiful songs. But just because Raja prime time is over, that doesnt mean his old songs are not good.

Where were all these termites hiding whenever Ilayaraja was in trouble?! HAIL PRR; oh, the ARRogance! People seem to have bad memory. In 2009, Bollywood composer Ismail Darbar said the SAME thing as Ram Gopal Varma (though he did not name the person which the latter did now)! They all dismissed him as "jealous". Now what?! What Sukhwinder Singh said after that, is called "damage control". The so-called composer was in soup 3 times before this: 1. 2018 - Malayalam composer Ouseppachan almost sued him for using his composition in Kaatru VeLiyidai; his mother bailed him out! 2. 2009 - Ismail Darbar 3. 2023 - Hindustani musician's family claiming for the ownership of PS-2 song! Though there is nothing "wrong" with what he does (aping the West), he cannot be called a COMPOSER like Maestro Ilayaraja who is the EXCEPTION even in the Indian music industry which has very few original composers. For example, KVM tuned while Pugazhendhi orchestrated. Same with MSV-TKR and later Joseph Krishna filling in. RDB had a team, and then there were duo composers where one did something and the other something else! Now, there are 2-6 different names for a single album! The anchor is more worried about "subscribers" than facts! So, what Ram Gopal Varma said is NOT surprising at all! Many musicians/singers have mentioned subtly / directly on how their inputs were put together to "compile" a song. Whereas, even those who worked with other music directors clearly mentioned that "ILAYARAJA is DIFFERENT" and always revere him / applaud him immensely! Blasco (who worked with RDB), Uttam Singh (who arranged for several music directors) - all HAIL ILAYARAJA as THE incomparable genius.

Also, I can see lot of jealous and hatred in your comment. You are no one to judge who is better. Neither you are another music composer nor a maestro who studied the music. You can say one is better only in terms of your listening taste and experience. You like Ilayaraja and someone can like some other music director and may be some one can like all. Be a true music fan but not a music director's fan. If you condition your brain so much to believe only one person's music is good, dude, I can say one thing: you are missing a hell lot of good music in the world. Take a peace pill.

Stay in the dark. I listen to all kinds of music, and that is why ILAYARAJA is the best in the trade as COMPOSER. Your ilk does not know the meaning of it. Leave music alone!

@@BC999 First, there is no damage control, as the videos I have posted recorded years ago and not now after RGV comments. You will not believe the director Subhash Ghai, Lyricist Gulzar also, but a random third person who was not there at the scene and who had nothing to do with the film. Second, do we really need to talk about Ismail Darbar. The whole bollwood knows, what kind of that guy is, who constantly bitches about Sanjay Leela Bhansali and ARR. He hates ARR, as the Rangeela film was supposed to be debut film of Ismail Darbar and at the last moment that project was given to ARR (RGV's book: Naa Ishtam reference). That hatred mulitplied when Saathiya got national award beating Devdas (Interview reference of Ismail Darbar). See the downfall of that guy after Devdas. Hatred and jealousy won't take you anywhere but only to nadir. You pick only statements from people who hate and envy ARR, obviously because that suits your prejudice and agenda, whereas you will conveniently ignore the legends like SPB, Bharati Raja, MSV, Balachander, Mani Ratnam, Yashraj, Gulzar and so many greats, who praised ARR from North to South. ARR doesn't need your approval from normal nothing people like you. Last, ARR can't compose? Ok, tell this joke to yourself daily to satisfy your ego. The whole India knows who the ARR is and to achieve his accolades and awards by any other music director in India would be a distant dream. The greatest composer of India. Period.
