Jai ho is not an Oscar worthy song to me. Roja, Swadesh, Rang de besanti and taal are deserved more than Oscar. Rahman has used sabesh murali for some of his background score in his busy time. Does this make him a music coordinator? No not at all. Basic tune belongs to Rahman. They are adding something on top of Rahman’s song with his approval. Raja sirs’ second unit was handled by Gangai amaran sir. Can we call that amaran sir’s work? Music is just collaborative effort end of the day. Rahman does not deserve this kind of controversy. ARR’s composition will stand out even after 1000 years. His fusion will be a lesson for all the generation coming up. In an interview, I heard the famous line when anchor asks Anuraag kasyaap about Ram Gopal Varma like Ram Gopal Varma is… Anuraag interrupt and correct the question like Ram Gopal Varma was. This itself will explain the whole controversy.

ARR in the beginning used many rhythm loops from libraries which were used by others also eg: Dr. Alban songs With his growing popularity he assigned the beat creation to programmers. The final output like arrangement, engineering, vocals, all go through his hands only and his supervision

Deva brothers did background score for ARR movies to. Please check their video in you tube. For example Star, En swasa katrae

Back in the 80s, Raja and SD Burman (if im not mistaken on the composer), they occasionally exchange tunes with each other for their movies. And composers in the 60s uses this similar method, composer comes up with main tune and they outsourced the music arrangements to others. its quite a norm in cinema industry. not sure why people are behaving as if ARR is the only one doing this. Even Raja gets Karthik raja to do the music programming work and also bgms for his films. the main idea and concept are always the composer's original work. and as Pravin Mani said here, ARR always double checks the works his music programmer does. yen romba thooram poringe, Pravin Mani's first film Little john itself the song tunes were composed by Singer Srinivas and Manika Vinayakam (Baila Re) and these are also printed in the audio cd inlay.

its not like that brother. ARR gives his tunes and music to his programmers. they will improvise the beats from it. only the beats. they dont compose the tune, interludes or any music instruments. music instruments in ARR songs are played by live musicians. watch their interviews. they will clearly say all notes are from ARR. even the albums harris claimed he did for ARR all those music backgrouns sounds were done by the live musicians and they will play the sound in those interviews. beats yes, it gets worked by people like Pravin Mani, Harris, Joshua Sridar, GV Prakash, etc etc. IF its them who did all the works for ARR, ARR will be the one out of field today and they still in the field giving great songs like ARR even today.

Sukhwinder Singh has come out and spoken about this controversy. He said that Rahman sir composed the song in his studio in the presence of the director of the movie Subhash Ghai and lyricist Gulzar sir. After composing Shubhash Ghai thought that the composition did not suit his movie. Rahman sir then left to continue his day. Gulzar had already penned the lyrics by then. Sukhwinder Singh having seen the lyrics and composition asked Gulzar to wait a few minutes and recorded the songs in his voice. He then sent it to Rahman and Rahman sent it to Danny Boyle. So clearly in Sukhwinder Singh's own words ARR composed the song.

Nenjilae that malyalam portion was tune hummed by lata mangesgar and included in the song
