Jagjit Singh Live at Siri Fort Auditorium - 19th October 1992
The regional organization South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) was established on December 8, 1985. There were initially seven member states that are mainly located in South Asia, i.e. Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. In April 2007, at the Association's 14th summit, Afghanistan became its eighth member. The headquarters of SAARC is in Kathmandu, Nepal.
The Speakers of Parliaments of SAARC Countries first met in Sri Lanka in June 1992 and resolved to set up an Association of SAARC Speakers and Parliamentarians. They met in Kathmandu in November 1992 and The First South Asian Festival was held in India (October 1992) at Siri Fort Auditorium, New Delhi, with participation from all Member Countries. It was a unique event that focused on the rich cultural heritage of South Asia.
Jagjit Singh Ji represented India in the Ghazal Category and made his live performance on the 19th of October 1992. He presented 7 Ghazals during this concert.
The Ghazals he presented were:
1. Duniya Jise Kehte Hain
2. Ghum Ka Khazana
3. Aadmi Aadmi Ko Kya Dega
4. Woh Kagaz Ki Kashti
5. Aah Ko Chahiye
6. Koi Dost Hai Na Raqeeb
7. Kal Chaudhvin Ki Raat

अज्ज आखाँ वारिस शाह नूँ कित्थों क़बरां विच्चों बोल ते अज्ज किताब-ए-इश्क़ दा कोई अगला वरका फोल.. पंजाबी कवित्री अमृता प्रीतम की खूबसूरत नज़्म है जिसको किसी पंजाबी folk song की धुन में गाया गया। इसी का ज़िक्र जगजीत साहब ने किया जब राना सेहरी की ग़ज़ल 'कोई दोस्त है न रकीब है..' की धुन बनाई उन्होंने। बेमिसाल गज़लें सुननी मिली इस live concert में। बेहद शानदार अपलोड है यह.. ❤️
