Once in a interview chitra ji said that he (jagjit ji) is a greater composer than a singer and I would think the same.

Could there be a melody as deep as soulful and as heart wrenching as this piece ?

Yes. The the vast flood of Bhakthi Sangeeth poured out by our Saanths to give relief, be a balm, give strength, courage, patience, forbearance, to the millions of Hindus who were looted, tortured, massacred, raped, converted, displaced, by the ancestors of these Nawabs, and whose cries of pain and sorrow were transformed into some of the most wonderful music this world has ever known. If the Nawab could produce such beautiful music from suffering even just a tiny little bit of the pain suffered by the Hindus, then imagine the infinite divinity of the song that poured out from the suffering of the Hindus!

This is a traditional composition written by last nawab of Awadh Wajid Ali Shah... He was ousted by the British from his estate and captured his feelings in a manner similar to a girl's vidaai after marriage
