Sad fact about Ofra Haza (RIP), the original singer. She was considered by Hans Zimmer to do the vocals for the 2000 film Gladiator, but passed away before she could be asked to do it. Lisa Gerrard’s vocals on the soundtrack are awesome, but imagine what it would have been like if the woman who gave us that awesome delivery of Deliver us had sung the vocals. RIP Ofra. He listens and then gets drawn in, now desperately trying to find who this voice belongs to as it gets closer. He then finds the voice and stares in awe, watching the woman sing before he steps or bumps into something, causing the woman to stop and then fleeing in embarrassment or something. Every time I listen I am instantly in tears.
Crazy absolutely crazyness. By far my favorite animated movie ever
she’s singing these notes that i absolutely melt over
The control in her voice is astonishing 😩
I think you’ve woken the Pharaohs in the museum. They probably think it’s the sound of a goddess’s voice 😀
Ofra Haza is smiling down from heaven right now.
I've watched The Prince of Egypt many times as a kid, I liked the songs, but I never imagined that coming across this song now that I'm grown up would make me cry like a baby. Just two seconds, and I'm already ugly crying, although silently. Thanks for this beautiful gift you've given us. ❤
My eyes watered up when I listened to your version. Absolutely stunningly beautiful. Thank you for sharing!
Not too sure why exactly, but this song makes me tear up whenever I hear it. Nostalgia maybe? I don't consider myself a very empathetic guy really and whenever I see tragedies the best I can manage is indifference. But when I hear this song whether it be the original or cover, something wells up.
Crap I legit started crying because of how stunning this was! I could hear the anguish Moses mother felt sending her child down the river and the haunting of the past- a truly stunning piece that Ofra Haza herself would be smiling right now!
how do you not cry while singing, this is so emotional and beautiful.

I heard you sing this maybe 100 times... it still brings tears to my eyes. Just amazing
I thought the original singer had the most beautiful voice I'd ever heard. Until I heard your version, which might be even better. You have an amazing, incredible voice. You are so talented.
can someone please help me find more music with this type of haunting etheric chanting?! thank you

I thought Amy Grant was the singer of this song.
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL rendition!!!
Twice, now, I heard this. Twice, I couldn’t hold back the tears. This cover of this song is so powerful that you can’t help to feel the pain behind the song. Rarely, do I hear a performance that gets me that emotional.
