Thank you for your explanation! This is so adorable to find explanations on that truly weird European philosophy.

Kinda confusing when you say it’s not a concept. It sounds like one. But concept to me is the same as an idea so maybe I don’t see the differance.

X: So, there are no essentials, and any essentials are impossible, right? Derrida: Yes. Essentials were false thoughts in philosophy. X: Can I understand your philosphy without reading Hegel or Heidegger? Derrida: No chances. X: Their works are essential to understand yours. Derrida: Yes, they are.

I don't see any relation to Levinas. His Other isn't subtle.

Greek philosophy moves things forward with mind, body, and soul ... Existentialists stage themselves above what went before by taking their monkey wrench and altering the space in between as if 'genius." If one steps in the footsteps of the Greek Philosophers, one feels animated as if dancing with Sophia herself. With the existentialist, it's like wobbling with a drunk on the dancefloor . Husserl was educated in math and, as a mathematician, eventually learned that to make a new theory fit, you must change a rule. As Aristotle wisely pointed out, if you change a rule, you weaken things . That is why modern philosophers are fashionable but weak. Also, why are philosophers not airplane pilots? Passengers don't like to be rerouted .in midflight.
