Jacobs Ladder Quilt Block plus Scrappy Version
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Sometimes things work out better than you had hoped.
My plan for this video was to demonstrate how to make a Jacobs Ladder quilt block using two different fabrics, while I was working on it I started to wonder what it would look like with scraps.
Well of course I had to try it and I absolutely love how it turned out. The original plan was ti make a few scrappy blocks and put them in my scrap quilt with other random blocks but when I saw how good it looked I realized I need to make a full quilt like this. So I will see if I can get more of the grey fabric I used and make myself a lap quilt. Which I will definitely need soon as winter is upon us.
These blocks are 12.5 inches unfinished and finish at 12 inches.
I think both versions turned out beautifully and I would definitely make one in either colour palette.

That is pretty. I made a Jacobs ladder block of red and cream but I haven't had enough fabric of that same fabric, but I love the scrappy blocks too...beautiful.

Very creative, and I love the scrappy look. I'm in the process of cutting all my scraps into usable sizes - it's quite a project, but worth it in the end. I have hundreds of 5" squares and 2-1/2" squares so you've given me some inspiration.

Both blocks look great. But I’m liking the scrappy block. Been trying to decide what to make as my next leader/ender. I have a medium/ish tote of all batiks that I want to use up, so I’m thinking this will be it. Thanks for the idea.
