They should rename it the Mark Messier NHL Elbow Award
2 years ago, we're up 2 games to 0.... up 2 goals to 0 in game 3 against Tampa. Trouba gets a penalty not once, not twice, three... three times... We never recovered, the momentum was totally swung in the other direction. Lost series 4-2. This year had 5 penalties in the first 2 games against Carolina... thank god for our penalty kill those games. He was on the ice for 7 straight Carolina goals... Leadership? Not on the ice!

This is the first time a Ranger has won this award, and Trouba deserves it. You have no idea what goes on off the ice, he's a good leader.
Couldn't have gone to a worse person, intentionally injuring opponents is not good leadership nor something kids should aspire to be one day.

Trouba doesn't intentionally injure opponents as that is risky and can lead to suspension. What he tries to do is clean hits to get someone out of the play because that's his job. Sometimes he makes mistakes because this is a fast paced game, but it's very rare when he does. Out of thousands of hits, there were only a few that were actually bad. Those are the ones you pay attention to.
