All 'renewables' have to be backed up by an equal amount of coal, oil, gas, and nuclear power. If renewables are so great, why do we need to have 100% backup capacity? We can't store the energy. It's impossible, currently, to store even 0.1% of the total energy needed.

I tend to disagree that they are not media trained. They all seem to have the same initial self introduction programming and that continues through everything they do and say during their monologues. Syria is in this situation because it didnt allow the USA to put a fuel pipeline through its country to try and swap Europe of Russian oil and gas. Syria is in an alliance with Russia so didnt think it was in there or there allies interest and then the USA destabilised the whole country.

Syria collapsed because the USA/UAE funded, armed and trained ISIS and the FSA to attack it because they refused the pipeline they wanted to build through it in 2009. The stop oil guy is utterly clueless. USA is using some of the same ISIS fighters to fight for them in Ukraine as well...

Oil isn't just used for petrol /aviation fuel / heating fuel. By-products from refining oil are used in miriad ways, as in cosmetics, medicines, plastics, industrial processes and hundreds of other applications. We can't economically just stop oil extraction. No-one talks about this, why?

Just Stop Oil needs to stop putting guys like this forward as a spokesperson. It just does their cause more harm than good.

Who is this person? At least he showed himself to be a completely brainwashed. Thanks Jacob, it's impressive how you keep so calm!!

And this is coming from someone who genuinely believes the govt needs to make a massive investment in renewable energy to bring down the cost of utilities and make us more self sufficient so we are not as vulnerable to world events such as Ukraine

It's only wishing to hear, or only being exposed to (often unintentionally), sources that reaffirm your existing beliefs or attitudes. KZread does this on purpose, with its algorithm only showing you leftist or rightist content if you show a preference for one or the other, and climate alarmists or climate realist content, pro-trans or con-trans content, etc. Newspapers and the like also do a similar thing, as they've discovered they can target and sell more effectively if they limit their range of ideas and opinions, producing their own echo chamber.
