It was a Tsukahara, therefore he goes off the vault like a round-off making him start backwards. Therefore it makes sense he landed twoards the vault.

No. Both vaults start at a 16.0. All men's vaults in this quad were de-valued by a full point.

For the women, it's a 16.3. Rumor has it the value will drop even further next year, possibly to 15.8 (the current value of a double-twisting Yurchenko).

Blair Andrews Nope, this new code just released lowered most vaults by around 4 tenths, so a 5/2 Tsuk/Yurchenko is a 5.2

USA Gymnastics gives athletes bonus points for doing skills/vaults that are extremely difficult. This explains why sometimes scores are extremely inflated. This vault might get a 16.100 internationally.

Rowan Smith This V, like all the other V's got degraded by 1.0. The hardest V now is a 6.4. King Kohei is doing a Li Xauopeng worth 6.2. I've seen him do a Tsuk 3/1, so if he wanted to, he can beat Dalton. That said, I don't think he'll be practicing two V's, he wants to win more AA. Doing a Li Xauopeng for an AA is insane...harder than a Yurchenko double pike and the Dragulescu.

It's frustrating that Jake performs so well on Nationals but doesn't perform as great on the Olympics.. both Olympics that is.. Danell Leyva on the other hand was an alternate member for the Rio Games because he performed badly on Nationals and performed great at Rio Games and won 2 Silvers.

Why they don't use the real rules of artistic gymnastics? They get some bonuses and other useless stuff to their scores and people can't compare them to other gymnasts' scores around the world.
