You can dislike it but if you study him seriously you'll realize he uses his talent to explore, excite, grow, connect and ultimately say what he feels in the most fresh way possible with the least amount of ego. Nobody's perfect but there are extremes, and he's on the extreme end of being very passionate about sharing exciting ideas and honest feelings with his fans.

@@ProximaCentauri88 did you read what I wrote? I just described an artist. He was making albums before he knew music theory because he loved expressing himself and discovering new ways of making music. Obviously he was always artistic in more ways than one. You are confused about him. Like I said, you don't have to like his artistry but to say he writes using music theory and not artistic desire and emotion is just flat out wrong. You need to study him more and learn about this aspect of him and his life story.

@@ProximaCentauri88 you're not reading carefully. I'm being very specific. Yes, you are confusing ability from passion with ability from intellect. You don't need to LIKE his music at all, not even a little bit, for you to learn the difference between his taste for writing, and his MOTIVATIONS for writing. This is something you can learn by watching many interviews. Nobody is asking you to worship him. I'm asking you to learn how to choose your words more accurately and not go in circles when someone explains something you didn't know. Now you know he writes from a very passionate point of view that has nothing to do with music theory.

I'm always on the edge of cringing with JC. There's no doubt he's a musical genius. I don't think he is a narcissist at all, but I do think he is to some extent a bit of a naive person who doesn't understand negativity in the real world and quite how priviledged he is. And that reflects in his lyrics. I can basically summarize his lyrics with "sunlight is nice, home is good & love is awesome" and I wouldn't be missing much. It's a very positive message but it's also quite empty because literally everyone in the world agrees on those things. What do you think?
