Extended Interview?? Bro give that man at least an hour to speak, you didn't even scratch the surface... But thanks for being one of the first mainstream platforms to open up to him though

No he's not. He's talented but he's not a genius. Most musical geniuses do jazz, not pop. He just has a really strong voice. But he's no musical genius. Julius Rodriguez, Emmet Cohen, Allyn Johnson. Those are musical geniuses. People need to stop overusing the word.

Jacob doesn't just have perfect pitch, he has the ability to hear notes by their wavelength. There's a video where he plays notes on a tuned piano, then explains how pianos are tuned, and then sings the notes that the keys should be playing based on actual wavelength instead of relative pitch. It's completely wild.
@jas_bataille

That is perfect pitch tho. Like *actual* perfect pitch. It's extremely rare, but not impossible. I knew someone who was the son of a pipe organ tuner, his mom tuned pipe organs tubes. So she would take a file and adjust the angle at which the air entered the tube until it was a perfect pitch. I reckon he was able, too, to tell the difference between equal temperament and absolute pitch. A great violin maker trained from a young age, in the past, would be able to do this as well. I think Jacob might be one of the very last human beings with this capacity. It's sadly dying :(

@@jas_bataille Exactly. However....you say it's dying. TBH, this is a skill you either have or you don't, it's not exactly what I'd call a trainable skill. I mean you CAN train it, like anything in life you can get better at it, but I guarantee only those who naturally have this skill will get far with it.

He is in fact a musical genius. He is a joy!
I bet even the audience didn't know they could sound like that😮❤!
Aside from being a musical genius, I love the way he dresses. Quite unique.
Yay!!!😊 the world is discovering the living legend
4:44 I literally thought they sound like angels lol.
Saw him rip it at Glastonbury this year but seeing Jacob, Maddison Cunningham and Chris Thile at the Union Chapel was genuinely the best gig I’ve ever seen
Jacob is amazing. Started following his videos during the pandemic, and even then it was clear that he'd become world famous! 👏
I'm so glad he got to give them a taste of the audience choir!
Jacob Collier is a truly special being who creates musical magic wherever he goes! ❤
We love jennifer hudson and jacob collier
I like how a percentage of his genius is being able to articulate in English in a way most people aren’t capable of anymore. And the inability to meet him on that level is part of being left speechless haha..
I hope he never stops doing audience choirs. Because even in a well lit studio on a daytime talk show, it brings me to tears. It's so beautiful to see people united like that.

Would have enjoyed Jennifer be more of a musician with Jacob than a talk show host. He IS a musical genius!
I love this. This guy is a musical genius for real. All thanks to Jennifer Hudson
I enjoyed this from him as well!!
Jacob don’t need this show. The show needs him. Jacob don’t need mainstream media. But. Mainstream media needs him. This dude is changing the world. 😊
I love that Jacob is finally getting recognition

Some people play musical instruments. This man plays people.
If Jacob was American : Interviewer : "What's your secret?" Jacob : "When I was just a little boy, I went from Carol Channing to Sylvester Stallone overnight. Then Quincy Jones signed me up!" Interviewwer : Understandable
