    Jaclyn seems to have the same 'condition' as Meghan Markle, has a little fantasy idea and seems to be able to suck others into it, when the bubble bursts and the reality is exposed, she just moves along, dumps all those friends, gets new ones and a new fantasy that she draws the next crowd into..... amazing! People eventually have to wake up and smell the coffee don't they???

    Jaclyn was never even owner of this brand, she's only ever been the face of Jaclyn cosmetics. It drives me nuts that people think Jaclyn decided to close JC when in reality the new forma owners rejected Jaclyn contract renewal in May, so she has nothing to do with this closure, she has no say in JC. 😂

    Wait I'm so confused by this. I knew all the other drama but not the CEO bit and I don't understand it? So she didn't own her brand? I thought even if there was a "parent company" she could still be the CEO of the brand but you're saying that's not the case here? Also how did everyone find this out lol I can't wrap my brain around it

  • @AKbaby89

    @AKbaby89

    @nopenope3632 so what happened to my knowledge (the vast majority of information came from Jen Luv videos when she was covering the Morphe bankruptcy case. The other info i got straight from the court paperwork.) was Jaclyn started Jaclyn Hill Cosmetics. She then found out how hard it is to start a brand. So Forma (Morphes parent company) then started Jaclyn Cosmetics, which is the brand that is currently closing. Jaclyn Cosmetics has always been a Forma brand, and the only way Jaclyn is connected to Jaclyn Cosmetics, was as the contracted face of the company. She never invested $1 into Jaclyn Cosmetics. She never owned Jaclyn Cosmetics. She's never had any say in it. She would renew her contract 4x a year, and all of her payments are also in the court papers, I just don't remember how much she was paid. In spring of 2023, Forma filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy, which is a restructuring bankruptcy. While they did this, ALL of their history came out, and this is when the public learned that Jaclyn is a lying liar who lies and has always lied. Jaclyn literally said Jaclyn Cosmetics was her brand, a family owned brand, an indie brand, a small business, a woman owned brand, etc. NONE of that is true. Even before Forma filed for bankruptcy, the owners were mostly male other than Linda (jaclyns friend that was one of the Morphe owners). When Forma filed for bankruptcy, they got new owners. The new owners then denied Jaclyns contract renewal back in May, so it was pretty clear they wanted to get rid of Jaclyn Cosmetics.

    There is an Australian youTuber called Pretty Pastel Please. She sent a few of the bad lipsticks to a lab. And she had put the results on Twitter, but it was taken down. And this was about 2 years ago. But anyway, I remembered the results cause I wrote it down. The lipsticks were 5 years old, there was 3 different kinds of mold, and I want to say there was animal hair in them. It was taken off Twitter because JH and her team threatened the KZreadr.

    She is a compulsive liar. In all her launch videos, she hints at how she’s lying. In lipstick gate, she heavily emphasizes how she is the CEO and nothing gets approved past her. Later to find out, she was not at the CEO at all and clearly was not doing quality check. For Koze, she makes a point of saying “We spent hours looking for a name!” Like she is getting off on that she knows she is lying and doing something deceitful. The only one where I somewhat don’t think she did anything wrong was the jewelry. Plenty of brands make similar jewelry with designs that are similar to high-end pieces but less expensive. You can probably go to Target and find a piece of jewelry that is a lookalike for a Chanel piece or something!

And when I see clips of her videos, I’m always struck at how shallow and vapid she is. Her talk about being authentic is like those people who spout all the toxic positivity nonsense. I remain amazed at the fact she still has followers, but I guess even the worst still have some fans for whatever reason.

    I think people gave her the benefit of the doubt (I did for a while) because she didn’t have control over the first launches that had issues. She didn’t control where the Becca palette was manufactured so that seemed like bad luck. With the morphe vault collection I still to this day think morphe fucked her over. She only chose the shades and the packaging and then when morphe fucked up the quality they threw her under the bus by making her field all the bad pr. They didn’t come out and say anything as the brand that actually made the mistake. Then later on when they changed the formula of her second palette to make it not vegan they didn’t notify her, so she was unknowingly advertising a non-vegan product as vegan. Only after her followers informed her and she went directly to morphe did they publicly admit they changed it without her knowledge. In those cases I still don’t blame her or view those as stains on her character because she didn’t make the choices that screwed up the launches. But I understand how people could just lump them all together because her name is on all of them. For me it was only after her own brands started having issues that I viewed it as a problem with her, because that was when she began actually making the decisions.

    Jaclyn to me is one of those people who weren’t prepared for their success. How could she have been? She’s an OG KZreadr in the beauty space. The only person I was aware of before her was NikkiTutorials. But in the end the success got to her head unfortunately. My impression is that she’s been struggling a lot, not just professionally. Then again, I can only go by what I see and hear online. I don’t actually know her life.

    She has no integrity. She tries hard to present herself otherwise, but it wouldn’t surprise me at all to learn she’s a manipulative mean girl behind the scenes. One scandal is one thing; repeated scandals is a pattern of behavior that speaks to a person’s ethics and morals. She clearly has none.

    Absolutely the vibe I get! With the videos I've watched about all her various brand issues, how she handled them, failed collabs, and the people she bowled over along the way - she seems like someone who has no regard for who she steps on and destroys while grasping at straws trying to find success and make money. She comes across as someone who only cares about herself.

    100%! I have been struggling with my support of a smaller creator who is low-key obsessed with JH,even with some of her subscribers,myself included,bringing certain things to her attention. She was receiving PR from Jaclyn Roxanne,so was constantly pushing new launches. The hypocrisy is,this creator has been vocal about no longer supporting Jeffree Star or James Charles. She can't go a week without mentioning a JH product lol At what point do we start holding the smaller creators accountable for their continued support of genuinely problematic people. It's the selective moral outrage that gets me.

Were the lipsticks badly produced but with the money she had sunk in them she couldnt just trash them all? Did you truly not know about it? What about where they were made & packaged? Surely they had to know something? How could such crappy products have even been made, let alone sold to consumers? I have so many questions. What happened with her brushes & palette? How can one person have so much drama?!

    Would just like to add since it wasn’t really covered; the jewellery business was plagued with quality issues, a lot of pieces were breaking on first wear and were ‘dirty’ (dusty) out the box. The IG comments on each post were…a lot. I believe it was also hard to return them because they wouldn’t send return labels. People were joking that both the jewellery and the clothing reminded them of Aliexpress but they weren’t wrong. It was cheap mass produced stuff in low quality with a really high markup. It was generic costume jewellery and fluffy socks with no unique touch or passion, just a ‘meh, I’m rich, it’ll sell, make it’ venture. Saddens me as a small business (artist).
