Tom Coughlin might be the most underrated Head Coach of the modern era. Two Super Bowl wins with the Giants against heavily favored Patriots' teams (one of which was 18-0 and being called the best NFL team in history). Plus, he took a brand new expansion team in Jacksonville and made them a contender within three years. They beat my Broncos in the playoffs when we went 13-3 and had home field advantage throughout the playoffs. That was in the Jags second year of existence. Great respect for Mr. Coughlin. He belongs in the Hall of Fame

That was the best offensive unit I have seen as a fan. And for the love for all that is sacred, can we pleeeeeeease with oreo cookie pieces, cherry on top or whatever, pleeeeeeease bring back those jerseys?

I thought Vinny was outstanding in that game, outplayed Elway. That pass deep over the middle to EMC was a "ah heck" play. It was a bad omen from that play on. That 98 team was stacked on both sides. Solid Special Teams. The assistant coaches were pretty good too. Their OC was the best they have had. Dan Henning I believe was his name. They have yet to find another OC like him since. Haven't had a WR duo better than Chrebet-Key since. What also stings is that the winner of that AFC title game was beating ATL. Never saw such a meltdown a week later like the Jets. Until ATL did in the SB vs NE. Ironic that ATL are in both sequences here. The last 3 AFC title games, the opposing QBs were John Elway, Peyton Manning and Ben Roethlisberger. But the 98 team had a lot of promise

As a Giants fan I was angry with Parcells for leaving, and you see a lot of players went with him eventually. If he had stayed with the Giants he would have one at least 1-2 more Super Bowls. The team fell apart after the Super Bowl in 1990 and didn't recover until Coughlin came in 2004.

And we say how tough the AFC is now. Just think, having a 12-4 record as the Jets did was not good enough for 1st place. Why? Because the Broncos were 14-2. Won their first 13 games, only for the NYG to upset them a few weeks prior. AFC with Elway & Marino as the QBs you had to go through. Still a great feat for Jets. Still recovering from the Broncos loss. But that divisional playoff win was great to see.

After this season, Bill Parcells retired, and the path was paved for DC Bill Bilichick to take over as Jets coach. At the last minute, Belicheck said he changed his mind and instead took the HC job with the Patriots. A year later they draft Tom Brady and the rest is history. Remember in 1990, Parcells was the head coach of the Giants, he had Coughlin AND Belicheck as assistant coaches. If that staff hadn't broken up the Giants would have won 2 more Super Bowls under him. But instead Parcells retires from the Giants and who do they give the job to? Coughlin? Belicheck? No. Running backs coach Ray Handley who lasted 2 years and never coached again.

Probably great. If we hadn’t blown that 23-10 lead in Indianapolis in Week 11 that year, Testaverde wouldn’t have thrown a single interception that postseason and we would’ve also not blown that 10-0 lead in the AFC Championship game in Denver and would’ve in fact scored that opening field goal to make it 13-0, instead of 10-0 and might’ve even won that game, 27-0 and probably would’ve beaten the Vikings in Super Bowl XXXIII, by a score of 34-6, with Testaverde winning Super Bowl MVP and becoming the 2nd journeyman quarterback to lead a team of any kind to the promised land and win it with that team. The other thing is that the Vikings should’ve finished with a perfect regular season that year. Never mind our 1st 2 seasons under Rex Ryan. Like I said, our 2nd season under Bill Parcells is the last time that we should’ve won the Super Bowl and the last time that we should’ve even made it to the Super Bowl.

Theres something that just doesn't ad up. Jets coach is long past his prime and nobody knows it.Jets offensive coordinator Charlie wins 2 super bowls on the giants with phil and 2 superbowls with the defensive coach on Patriots. . The jets defensive coordinator wins 7 superbowls or 8.And the knucklehead coaching Jacksonville gets fired and goes to the NYG and plays half his games on this field and with a below average QB wins two superbowls and one that they should not have won was against this defensive coordinator on a undefeated Patriots. . This is just all to much to believe it's just a coincidence and not preplanned by a hidden power. Theres a hidden power involved and I dont think it's the hand of God.
