Even though I don't listen to them every day, Iron Maiden is my favorite band because when I hear their songs I have that feeling in my heart that makes me love them. It started when I was 10 or 11 when I started liking them (before I couldn't bear to listen to The Trooper haha), then I went to the Maiden England tour in 2013, and since that time, I've been in all of their live shows here in Chile. Many moons ago I had a Dime 3ST, bought it from Mars Music in Somerville, Ma. At the time it was the most expensive guitar I had ever bought. I also had the full Warhead stack. I pawned the guitar to finance my bands album. Worst mistake of my life... The pawn shop sold it before the time was up to buy it back, the dude saw that it was worth way more than the loan, when I went back to get it it was gone. I've been hunting for it ever since or one like it. 20 years...If memory serves it was serial number 0000095. This has nothing to do with this video, it was just on my mind while watching and how many guitars, awesome and not so awesome I've lost along the way. Ola, thank you for testing shit, thank you for all the nostalgia you bring and thank you for keeping this old musician/gearhead/metalhead up to speed on what's current!

@davidblake9079

This guitar would be so easy to Mod the hell out of it. Pariah BlackHeart humbucker and a Bare Knuckle Cobra for the Neck. Follow Ola's lead and lower and disconnect the middle pikcup, replace with 3 way switch. You could mod the neck joint and make it like a JS1000, so you have 2 bolts on the lower horn side taking 1 1/2 inch bolts, and the other side (top side) taking 1 3/4 inch bolts. This is a very comfortable neck heel. Takes some time and some 180 grit sandpaper.. and the 2 shorter bolts. If someone is considering doing this - the low side (short side) is 11/16ths and the taller side is 1 full inch. (this what to sand it to on the body to give you that easy access slant. Yes - you will cut into the lower horn a bit. The area has to be big enough to put the neck plate back on. And then smooth it out so it is not an ugly mess.

Ola can make any guitar guitar sound amazing. This Jackson is no exception! Sounds great and looks amazing
You're Frickn talented Ola! Hearing you play something different proves it.
Daaaamn, Ola playing Wasted years, this is gooooold
Sounds awesome! I’ve been waiting one for a while!
I love that axe! And the more I hear the Jackson/Marshall DSL combo, the more I like it!
Yes! Yes! Adrian's guitar going into a Tube Scream into a Marshall stack? Pure magick, right there!

Only thing that is missing is the tube screamer into a fat chorus before the marshall and you have a perfect somwhere in time / Seventh Son sound :D

@@TheStrykerProject Yeah I just tried it, I only have a Marshall DSL40CR 40W tube combo since I live in apartment. And I have it in like 10W or something to get more out of the tubes at lower volume to not make the neighbors too mad. I also added a Phaser/Phaseshifter with the chorus and tube screamer and a little bit of delay&reverb. Man it sounds a lot like Adrians guitar sound from the Somewhere in time album which is my absolut fav album together with Seventh Son. I got the sound settings from this guy, watch it and thank me later if you have not already seen it. Sounds much like original ADrian SMith, watch it , here is link kzread.info/dash/bejne/dK6TxK1yl6enlrQ.html

@@mathias6423 Sweet! Thanks, man!
I have both versions with both maple and rosewood fretboards, two beautiful guitars.
Goosebumps from that intro riff! 👍
Singing along all the crowd Fear of the Dark is payless.
That guitar sounds VERY METAL which is what it says on Adrians jacket from THE YOUNG ONES!!!
5:28 oooh yes we remember learning that too 🤘🏽
Such a beautiful guitar. So grateful for this review - I’ve been seriously considering grabbing one but now there’s no doubt.
I just got the SDQX Trans Green and I added it the Seymour Duncan JB Trembucker. Now it is a BIG guitar!🎸
I have this guitar with the Laurel fingerboard.. Its turned into my daily driver just recently. Plays great and tone is not overstated and loves whatever you do with it.
I went to my main page and this was uploaded 6 seconds ago apparently. I'm literally here before youtube notifications.
I love it when you play riffs off the Haunted's first album.
Adrian Smith has got a cool project going on with Richie Kotzen! It’s called Smith/Kotzen! Check it out, it’s great music. 🤘🏽

Thank you for the video! So the volume pot is there because Adrian Smith uses it when he plays so it sits where the palm would help the fingure reduce the volume! Nice stuff!
This guitar would look great with those normal jackson inlays.

you mean the sharkfins? it's more kind of a Charvel though, it even has the SD standing for "San Dimas".
Love the look of that guitar. Looks like something I would pick up to play in a store.
You made that amp and guitar sound amazing.
I have a Dave Murray (Iron Maiden) Fender Stratocaster with 3 Seymour Duncan Hot Rails and it sounds so sick, the neck is incredibly comfortable, and it has a Floyd Rose.
top mounted floyd means one can easily retrofit it with a EVH D-Tuna. it also won't come out of tune if a string breaks. at that price point a very good option for using as a workhorse.
I always wondered about this guitar, pretty rad!
Was already anxious for this one!
Very cool. Maiden is one of my favorites.
love you Ola , making metal fun again.
I agree about the volume knob, I found one used, removed the tone pot, moved the volume pot down and installed a toggle, installed a Fender neck and Dimarzio mid single, the bridge pup is decent enough, good guitar to make a partscaster
The one i had was really good, especially for the money. It's a Charvel So Cal +1 single coil basically, feels the same.
Fender charvel and Jackson have just been killin it lately

Was cool to get a little insight on how Adrian gets his tone. I wouldn’t have guessed ts9 tube screamer. I know in the early days Dave Murray used an mxr distortion +
That DSL 20 is wicked good.
I have the emerald green / black version, I switched out the pickups with a SD BLACK WINTER, and 2 X SD HOT RAILS...now it CHUGS Awesome guitar
Love that clean look!!! JACKSON!!!!
Out of all three of those guys when I seen them Dave Murray clearly had the most transparent tone. Also cut through the best.
Thats better than I thought it would be. I know some people like the volume close to the picking hand for volume swells but it gets in my way as well
Ola, That was awesome. Love that guitar 🤘🎸
As inexpensive as it is, is very well made... and yes, the bridge pickup is not that great, placed a SD Distortion in the bridge and that bridge one went to the neck to have a HSH configuration... love playing it all the time!!
Been subscribed for a while, when things get a little better will become a member. Always enjoy your shows, and I really appreciate you doing your own thing. It’s gets annoying to see the same guitars and other murch( Harley Benton). Nothing against people who do that, but I just love the way you are doing your own thing. Have a great life and say hi to wife and kids, another great aspect of your shows. If it’s to loud you’re to old !!
Sounds nice indeed.
Can I just say I need this guitar Adrian is one of my guitar hero's, great demo man
Thanks for this review Ola!
Awesome to hear Uplands Väsby again too!!!!
I must say the pickups in Jackson guitars are great I have a randy rhoads minion and even that guitar sounds great plugged in, loved the video like always
I’ve tried one that had a Dimarzio single coil pretty damn sweet
I've got this guitar the only difference is mine has the white pickguard, but otherwise just alike. This guitar is super sweet. I tend to play it more than the others. Chords, leads all play insanely cool. The tone is great and I'm totally happy I made the decision to get it. Rockin' it with Maiden riffs, gotta love that!!

Looks like a fun guitar to play around with
Sounds awsome so does the marshall amp
lol The Wicker Man is the first maiden riff I've ever learnt. Nice guitar dude

I've wanted one of these for awhile now.
Adrian is a great guitarist. Every time I have seen Maiden in concert I have enjoyed his solos the most. Fear of the Dark RULES. Great sounding video. I like the guitar, it looks fabulous.
Loved the Fear of the dark intro
beautiful guitar and you sir are cool af for demoing
Very nice review! I'm about to get the white pickguard with basswood body. It should get the sound a bit warmer
Sounds nice. That’s the one I want but completely white.

OMG. Awesome guitar!
Glad to hear him Play the Wicker man, Brave New World at times feels underrated.
Love ur content ola! Gretings from norway! Bought a solar guitar in dec! Love it!
That was really cool, I never thought would see Ola Playing The wicker man and enjoying it !!! xD By the way, the spects are some kind of tribute to his Favorite Jackson from the "Seventh son" era, thats why the San dimas shape and the Non-recessed floyd. And this is the entry level, the USA comes with Dimarzio distortion (maple) or S.Duncan (rosewood)
I love those DSL20 amps.
Side note: your lead playing is noticeably better as of late! Great review as always
