JACKIE CHAN vs RON SMOORENBURG - WHO AM I ? - FINAL FIGHT - ROOFTOP - HD - ROTTERDAM
Ойын-сауық
www.imdb.com/name/nm0810653/
Dear martial arts fans and movie fans, in 1997 my dream came true when I was discovered by Jackie Chan to do the final fight in his movie 'Who am I ?' filmed on top of the Nedloyd Building in Rotterdam, Its a very controversial fight scene as besides the story of someone coming out of nowhere to fight Jackie Chan and made his dream happen, there's a documentary how difficult is was for me to keep up the timing with Jackie. -- I'm going to do a full breakdown of this event on the Vikingsamurai channel and here later as things not always are as people think. in short, to fight Jackie in a first movie ever is like doing a grand prix race after a few driving lessons.
The good thing is out of all of this, I had to restart my career and build from -0 , and my goal was to fight as much action stars as possible, never to let anything like this happen again. The underdog position kept the fire for all the years and this way I can help anyone who dreams of a career in the action movie business.. And that's what I do. let No ONE take away your dream or uncreate you - its like taking your life away ! Thats why I always say
Life is Action !
I created my own fighting style called RECHARGE and its getting more and more known and popular these days so Im vrey thankful. Life is literally to recharge yourself and channel all energiet to the right directions and in combination with knowing your purpose this van be very powerful,.
Greetings
Ron Smoorenburg

Music was better as well. The early 2000's had great tv shows up until now. Now they suck ass.
Honestly, after re watching this movie and this fight scene after years, this still is hands down one of the best movie fights ever choreographed. Everything and everyone was in sync. Props to you, to Jackie and to everyone involved in making this masterpiece.

This was an insane fight, nothing compares! All the best and thanks for contributing to the world of entertainment. This is how it's done. I'd never forget his.
I Love Jackie Chan, Brad Allen and Andy Cheng but I really am in awe of Ron Smoorenberg in this fight scene. I find it absolutely incredible that this is his first on screen fight and how well he does keeping up with the rhythm and adapting to Jackie's style, that in itself is an incredible feat, Way to absolutely rise to the occasion on Ron's part. You can really see how phenomenal his talents are all round. Those kicks are absolutely stunning, I remember when this came out on VHS in the 90s and just rewinding and watching this fight again and again and again. I think this is an absolute classic and is one of the best 90s Hong Kong fights scenes.

RIP Brad Allen
I've watched this fight scene tons of time since it came out in 98. I watched Jackie Chan's films religiously almost every weekend in Lima, Perú. The set up for Ron as a big boss is flawless with that leg stretch as the camera is panning out. Seconds later he throws off a flying kick followed by a dragons tail to the opposite direction to open up the fight!!!! That is VIDEOGAME STATUS. I've been in awe w that move since i was 12 and now my kids are too. My 3 year old just asked me "can we please watch the rooftop fight?"... I put it on... And then he starts shouting and throwing kicks! This still is probably one of the best (if not the best) fight in the history of movies.
The wobbly legs at the end😅😂😂. I love this movie since i was young
I was watching the movie and my niece left the room saying Uncle watching those old Chinese movies again. 😂😂 Like damn I'm old now
The Big Brawl/Battle Creek Brawl (circa 1980ish) was my first time seeing a Jackie Chan movie... it was a great movie!

What a great fight scene. I loved these late 90s Hong Kong movies. Their action was and is different. Good work, Ron!
The best thing about Jackie from the 80s on is how messy his fights are. Not like IP man movies now. The way he and his team choreographed these fights made them look almost like a real street brawl. These guys are swinging what looks like wild punches. Hooks. Jabs....everything. The choreography is just incredible.
5:13 I love that jackie chan always fighting like this in some of his movies.

Jackie Chan is a genius. His rhythm & timing & and bravery are unmatched.
I had the chance to play in background, but had school exams, but this one of my favourite scenes, and loved the style of Ron, that made join Teakwando after seeing this
For one of Jackie Chan's best fight scenes of all time, I found it amusing that as far as the story went, these guys were two random henchmen (with incredible skill) that appear at the very end 😅. Ron Smoorenburg was downright amazing in this scene!

One thing about jackie chan fights that is rare to see is today so often the main character just wins. Jackie originally struggles then adapts and starts to win then Ron comes in he gets beat but starts to adapt and wins till they both fight and again starts to lose adapts then wins. The development and evolution of the fight. This is something that needs to happen in more action sequence movies today and I hope we can learn from the past.

You still did an excellent job though and it is one of my favorite fight scenes to date. Well done bro 💪
I seem to have seen a clip of an interview at that time (or maybe a documentary), and Jackie Chan seemed to have difficulty communicating with you on some stunts because of language problems. He was in a hurry, and it made people laugh. At the same time, many people are surprised that your leg work is so good and fast. At that time, I thought Europeans and Americans only knew boxing (lmao). I didn't expect to meet you on youtube today, so excited. After many nights of "Midnight Kung Fu Theater" when in the Army, and having seen most of Jackie's movies, this fight between him and Ron here is one of my all time favorite fights. I have Who Am I on DVD and have watched just this fight so many times and yet I still can't help but be blown away by the choreography. I was in American TKD when I was in the Army but deployments and the injury of my back prevented me from going beyond Yellow belt. Herniated disks really reduced ones ability to twist and kick, and I hate it.
This was definitely one of my favourite childhood fight scene , great to see you active now! Always wondered where were all the talented stuntman at!

Title ya hii movie
We will literally not see another Jackie Chan in our lifetime and perhaps the next. Jackie in his prime gave the world COUNTLESS films that broke new ground and pushed the limits of creativity in action-martial arts choreo. Goes without saying but Jackie isn’t just a badass. In terms of filmmaking as it pertains to his style of film the man has always been a genius.
One of my favorite fights in movie history
What a variations in kick sir very nice 💖
Fighting two people simultaneously who both fought him one on one. That is tough.
