    Good evening from Belgium Dr I need your help. I am using a Bluetti EB240. When I plug my phones or tablet in, the touch screen stops working and windows on the screen keep sliding by themselves, either on AC or DC, plus I get slightly electrocuted on DC if I touch any of the charging ports ( usb or usb c or cigarette lighter !!! 😥

    Excellent review, as always. We just ordered both units on an Amazon flash sale. While it is unfortunate that the generator doesn’t seem to factor in the extra juice I have a small point of contention with something you said. 15:12 you pointed out with the units connected together that at 2160W output that the display showed 1.0 hours of run time. You then disconnected the pack, turned the unit back on and said it still showing an hour. RIGHT AFTER you mentioned that the display went from 0.9 to 0.6 hours, and after the jump cut while still making your point it was showing 0.3 hours. Simple math, really, not only did the display correctly show the run time, run the math for 2160W for a 1000Wh generator at 74% and for 2000Wh gen (74%) + pack (100%). 😊 Otherwise great video.

    I purchased a Jackery 1000 plus during the July 2024 Prime day sale. I was concerned about the phantom drain reported here - as it would impact my use of the unit . I fully charged the unit and turned off the 12 hour protections and started the AC drain test Monday morning without anything plugged in. Wednesday evening at 11PM when I last checked (63 hours in), the display showed 51%. The next morning at 72 hours in the display was 0. So my unit performed more like the Hobotech's 2000 plus test where Hobotech projected 2 1/2 days to fully discharge. As this is a newer unit than the one first tested by Hobotech 10 months ago, perhaps the excessive drain reported by Hobotech was corrected in manufacturing. We do know that the display was perhaps as much as 50% wrong.

    Thanks for your great review. It looks like a great unit. The best thing about it is the solar charging speed-800 watts is twice as fast as the EcoFlow Delta 2 will charge. The problems are the price ($1,200 is too much when you can get a Delta 2 for about $750) and the difficulty in using other solar panels. If solar charging speed is very important to you or if you need to have 4,000 watts (with 3 expansion batteries) this might be an option. But for less money ($3,000) you could get an Anker 767 and expansion battery and also gain a 30 amp plug.

    Great review and great release by Jackery. 👍 But the extra 11 pounds is not due to LFP over NMC only, the bigger/better inverter plus the internal charger are part of that 11 pound increase too.

    When they don’t have an external AC charger brick and have faster AC charging and/or UPS/EPS mode they don’t just stuff the AC brick inside. Instead they use the existing AC inverter in reverse which usually only needs an extra relay or two so the weight from that is negligible.

    I am glad jackery is finally trying to catch up. Unfortunately, they still seem to be lacking in the tech other companies are using and still at high prices. Any Idea why the zendure superbase pro is the only system out there that allows dc charging on the ac input? I wish they would increase the solar voltage input on these units. So many brands limit it to 60 volts. I do like that it has 2 solar inputs, something ecoflow also has on the delta 2 max. I got a Pecron e2000lfp for that reason, 2 solar inputs at 95 volts max each at 600 watts. I believe they go up to 14 to 15 amps input.

    Excellent review. Many thanks. I noticed that both of the new units do not have any alternate 12v output - just the crappy cig outlet. Anyone even slightly serious using these in a boat/car/truck/van is going to want better 12v outputs such as a barrel connector, XT60 or Anderson. I can understand this trend with the larger "home" backup types of units but not those of a size to be used in a car/truck/boat/van.

    I've been told by Jackery support that this Jackery has a true AC passthrough when running from the grid so your equipment such as aquarium pumps get powered via the grid unlike Ecoflow which runs your equipment from it's battery and then recharges itself constantly from the grid, which results in huge gaps in display vs real power time remaining. That also will kill the battery sooner than a true passthrough. Can you confirm this is the case with the Jackery?

    Heading in the right direction, but still expensive and the solar input is kinda hobbled still. I like the battery saver feature for limiting the charge and discharge for long term use as a UPS (even though it isn’t a true UPS). That helps justify getting these types of systems for emergencies if they can also be used all the time as a high capacity UPS.

    Bought a Bluetti Ac180 For $750 3 weeks ago and only going to use it in a Power Blackout at my home.After 3 weeks waiting for the first blackout(None in the weather forecast}I turned on my Bluetti Ac180 and its at 99% charged(NO Drain}Also bought a Bluetti P72 from Walmarts for $282 and after 1 week NO drain at all.....As of now I think I should be happy at what I have, ready for that blackout. Before I bought the Bluetti I was looking at the Jackery Explorer 1000 for around $800 but I did not like the Life of the Battery in it.Seems that the Battery will last a lot longer in the Bluetti?But with the Jackery 1000PLUS selling for $900 with the Battery long lasting battery I think I am leaning towards it since the Explorer 1000 is being discontinued and I hope it will be around the $800 price range before years end with all the sales... As I am New to this I am willing to spend a few dollars and protect my food in my house when there is no electric.

    That battery pack really needs an output port, USB, something, and an alternate input in case the head unit fails in an emergency. The 2000 plus has solar inputs, but 1000 plus has nothing but the huge cable, and yes, they need to make a different cable that doesn't stick out the back so badly. On the side would have been better.

    Thanks for this video! I've just got a 1000 Plus, mainly for charging drone batteries when away from mains power, and it's interesting to learn more about its capabilities. I'm considering using it to give me an extra 1kWh of energy storage at home to run my home office (we also have a Tesla PowerWall 2) ... just need to figure out the best way to use it for this purpose ... everything in my home office runs off one plug (monitors, laptop dock, hard drives, etc), and everything seems to stay on just fine when switching the Jackery on and off.

  • @HorizonimagingCoUkPhotography

    @HorizonimagingCoUkPhotography

    6 ай бұрын

    Just to let you know it works fine for this purpose of running my home office! 😎I'm using a smart mains socket to turn the AC input to the battery on when our off-peak electricity tariff starts overnight, and then switches the AC input off again when the off-peak hours end, so it only ever charges with off-peak electricity (and I can obviously charge it in the day if we have excess solar). 😊HOWEVER ... there seems to be a bug in the firmware, whereby if you set the battery to charge using 'Quiet charging mode', the AC output SWITCHES ITSELF OFF after a short period of time if the AC input is turned on at the same time! 😱 This happened repeatedly on two units (as Jackery immediately sent me a replacement after I described this issue to them, but the same problem occurred on the other unit too), so I thought that was that for using it as a UPS ... but after some more experimenting, it seems by switching the charging mode to 'Fast charging mode' this problem disappears, and the unit can charge whilst passing power through to the AC output, no problem! I hope this helps someone out there! I've since bought an expansion battery to give me extra capacity, although as you covered in your video, it's frustrating that the capacity information on the display doesn't take the additional battery into account! I've emailed Jackery to see if they plan to fix this with a firmware update ... Thanks again for your video!

    I’m trying to figure out if there is a minimum solar wattage to actually charge a power station. I have an EcoFlow river pro and my only spot for solar is mostly shady with about 1 hour of full sun. Most of the day the display reads about 20 watts in on my 220 watt panel. Even after a few hours of saying it is taking in 20 watts per hour the % doesn’t move. It makes me wonder if it is even charging at all. Is there a minimum wattage input to actually charge it?

    I'd love it if each battery pack had its own 4-800w MPPT charger Kid of a niche problem but because of trees a system like this just cannot take in power fast enough while the sun is out for a reletiverly short time. Yes this with 2 battery packs would get me all the way though the night, but i only have about 2 hours worth of good solar, and unless i get supper expensive, and super space inefficient amorphus pannels, i would basically be making no power outside of those ~2 hours of good light, though the plus side is that this time window does improve during the winter.

    I really appreciate your reviews and have been following you for a long time but Jackery should really do more for you with regard to the codes. I can get the same discount directly from Jackery without them knowing I saw your video. It doesn't seem right to me that thye at least don't give you an opportunity to monetize sales driven by your reviews. Thanks again for the content.

    What do you mean fully discharge and fully recharge? I just got my 1000 plus and plugged in two fans and they were pulling 126 watts with the battery fully charged and said it would last 8.1 hours. That’s only 1008 WH and 79%, I didn’t actually test this, I will overnight, but my first thought is that seems too short.

    Their spec sheet says that it accepts 8-11A DC input. Yet your test never shows it going above 8A no matter the voltage. That means that a 200W solar panel operating at 20V/10A will be limited to 160W max. That's an odd limitation for a power station this big.

    Another very detailed review, thank you! I will add that Renogy does already have a similar sized power station that does allow for two to be connected for 240 volts AC. The Renogy Phoenix 1000. 1500 watt invertor, 400 watts PV input, 968 WH = $750 each approx. plus $90 for split phase cable.

    Hi sir Hobotech I have a question... for example if a battery solar charging is 400 watts and the Ac charging is 1000 watts can someone use a 1000 watts solar panel on the Ac charging to get a faster solar charge? Thank u

  • @jw3843

    @jw3843

    NO. The only unit that has anything like that is the Zendure superbase pro. It has a cable that allows for that and something inside that allows you to charge with dc on the ac input. Ac and Dc power are not the same and unless made for it, do not put ac into dc or dc into ac, as far as I know none of the other brands have made something that can do that. Now you can get 1000 watts of solar, get an inverter and a battery for holding charge and charge the power station off of it through the ac inverter but then you are making your own solar system.

    @@prosperityokechukwu1503 You asked if you can use 1000 watts of solar panels on the ac charger for faster solar charging. That would be putting dc power into an ac input. Solar only produces dc power no matter what wattage it is at. Which is what the zendure superbase pro has built into its ac input to allow for dc charging from solar into its ac input. Hobotech has a video on it. It is the only one that has that feature built in.

    @@jw3843 I have a mini solar generator. I use solar on the ac outlet and it works a 100%. It is a 300w powerbank I use for my laptop. So now I'm planning to upgrade to the yoobao en1200q it supports 400w solar charging and 1000w ac outlet charging. So I was thinking if I can buy the battery with a 1000w solar panels if it will work the same way my mini battery is working. My mini battery has 100w ac charging but plug a 100w panel it is the same. The same place for ac charging is the same place for solar and it works 100%... I'm wondering if this will be the same for bigger batteries
