I don't understand why I'm not getting it. I'm landing the jump, but it's only giving me the velocity or if I hit a patch of dirt and drift on landing it gives drift.

To who thumbs up me, I figured it out. You have to land perfectly. All four tires at the same time, softly, getting the right amount of air so it's 200 before you land. Don't floor it the whole time. Floor it but then either let go of the accelerator for most of it or full on break for some of it. Just keep trying and you'll get it.

Should the trophy be earned as you land or after you finish the mission, The trophy just wont seem to appear?

I just did this. However in my own way. i did it the same way this guy did, the first one (with the thunderbird) however, I did it with the berkley Kingfisher upgrade to 2nd engine (highest without jimmy's vendetta dlc). It's a heavier car, so easier to control, the lighter faster cars have a better chance of nose diving, so you hit the ground hard and don't get the achievement.
