Snippets of the truth at the end. They come from the book; The Ripper and the Royals. I believe it to be as close to the truth as we shall ever get. I found this book in a library. The Royal family bought 20 copies. The Queen's comment; Fascinating.

Wow! This was quite literally the best 40 minutes of KZread I have ever watched. What a cracking tour guide, with far more knowledge and information about Victorian and modern day London than anyone else I think I have ever seen.

Sinead is fab. I definitely recommend also checking out the master of Ripper tours, Richard Jones. His tour with Shaun Attwood is probably the most in depth on youtube, and he's been doing the tours for over 40 years.

Sinead is cracking! Such presence & her delivery creates such a vivid mental picture even in the locations that have since been redeveloped & are harder to imagine what they had been like at the time

Just really appreciate Sinead's ability to put this history across absolutely fascinating.

This is absolutely spine chilling! Im not surprised you looked horrified Tim! I knew Jack the Rippers crimes where horrible but i didn't realize they were so gruesome! All the more so because Jack The Ripper was never found, he could of been a Doctor or he could of been a Butcher but without a doubt he was a Madman. Sinead really brought the scenes of the Murders to life, you could almost imagine the way Victorian England looked back then! Sometimes its easy to think Victorian times looked warm & cosy like Christmas Card scenes. But it really wasn't like that was it! Absolutely gripping vlog Tim! Im so glad ive seen it now 2 years late but better late than never!...

Exactly. Victorian times were brutal. In fact, even the rich, including the Royals back then actually had it quite hard compared with today. Even though many might not feel like it due to the standards being much higher now, the working class of today will probably have more than the wealthy did back in those days but of course, everything is relative and they probably didn't see it that way at the time. It's only with the benefit of hindsight that we can get a better perspective of things.

I've seen Sinead's virtual tour multiple times on Free Tours By Foot's channel and I still learned a few new things here. What a wonderful collaboration

I love the way she looks straight at the camera, with her big blue eyes. In addition, her narrative is upto par with journalistic profession..I plan on watching all of her videos. 🤩

She is SO knowledgeable and is such a great presenter!! Thank you for joining him and giving us this tour!

I could listen to this lady for hours.

Very enjoyable, I love how she tells the story of the ripper with a glint in her eye and she turns gruesome to funny very easy so it's great to watch

I've seen a lot of videos on Jack the Ripper, but this is by far my favorite. Sinead is amazing...well done, and ty for filming this.

What a treat this is! Thanks for not blurring things out too.. it might be graphic and gory but it's literal history and hugely interesting!

I love Sineads tours, she is such a good story teller and so knowledgeable. I think Aaron Kosminski was the ripper, but we will never know for sure. Great video, thank you Sinead and Tim.

@@paulanthony5274 I believe that detectives suspected JTR of other crimes. Emma Smith was assaulted by a man with a knife in April that same year. Emma described his MO similar to JTR.

I've lived in East London for sixty odd years and every time I pass one of these tours another piece of fiction seems to get added with each generation, very little evidence was ever documented at the time mainly because there were countless murders each night. What makes a great legend is the fact that it won't ever be proved.

Hi Tim, I have been on a Jack The Ripper tour twice on visits to England. The first was over twenty years ago and it is interesting, and a little sad I guess, to realise how much the crime scenes have changed in recent years. The first time I went on the tour you could get much closer to the exact places the poor women were found but time has moved on and much is changed. I thoroughly enjoyed your online tour as I have to admit I was really spooked on the other tours. I kept on looking behind me constantly and having to run to catch up with the group. I felt sure someone was going to grab me from behind and drag me into a dark alley. I felt much safer watching your tour from afar. Sinead is an interesting and knowledgeable guide and as you said you learn something new each time.

Tim, I just had to come on & tell you how much I enjoyed this video, & also the walking the rollercoaster video. Both very different but both so interesting. It goes without saying that I adore your seaside walks too; but I love history & learning about how things work & how they're constructed etc. So both videos are very appealing & extremely interesting. I'm actually going to have to rewatch them both. Both are saved & I will share them later. You should carry on doing a mix of videos, just my opinion. Brilliantly delivered! I used to live minutes from Aldgate East station, so this brings back good memories, even if the topic is not such a happy one. Used to see these tours on the streets from time to time. The pub you started next to and that alley are very familiar. Great guided tour too, seeing London like this brings back warm memories.Thank you, Tim!

This is absolutely fantastic, Sinead is a star, I learnt so much, great video Tim.

I did this tour and it was a full moon, went into a pub where the toilet used to flush on its own and it did whilst we were there and we just couldn't wait to get out of there, it could have been staged but, I have been witness to some spooky stuff so I always have an open mind! I loved the tour it was a bit of fun and London has so much history! I spent a a few evenings in Whitechapel pubs as my boyfriend at the time had friends who played in a band! They were great times! My theory is it was that Royal!!!!

Tim - I just stumbled upon your channel a few weeks ago (in 2024), and this has to be one of your most fascinating videos which I have watched so far. I enjoy history, and Sinead is a very captivating tour guide. I would love to go on one of her tours next time I visit London, though I might be one of those who faint if I did one of the Jack the Ripper tours. 🙈😄 This reminds you of the really horrible conditions which people used to live in within the city, as well as there are seriously insane and scary people who are part of society.

Fascinating walk, Tim. I myself have been on the free tour, about two or three years ago. So graphic in detail how they explain the events of those atrocious murders... I myself thought you looked a tad traumatised. Better sticking to the good old Anglian folklore of the Black Shuck (Big Black Hound). Cracking video, Tim. Cheers! 👍😀

I just caught up with this only a year late! Back in the 80s when I left school I went to work in the City, on the fringes of Spitalfields, and it sparked an interest in JTR. I went on a tour, and oh boy, was it atmospheric back then, with much of the area unchanged since that time and much of it derelict! Anyway, great video - Sinead's tour I imagine, is very detailed and informative. Cheers, Tim!
