Q60 Jay I was going so say that. Changeup needs to be with the same amount of energy. Grip will take some off the MPH and then he needs drag his back foot that takes off some speed too. Same energy, same look and big speed difference. In this video his changeup is him just throwing it slower and his body gives it away. All fixable, he is blessed with a great arm.

this young guy is going to be in the MLB. the slider is spot on. the fast ball is good enough (location, location, location) - four seam up, two seam down. it's going to be a question of how often he uses his change up. the more, the better it becomes. just seen the change up. this kid is now, going to be a future all star. done. next step is about health and consistency.

@1banana2kiwis 1. Yes you can tell it will be an injury. All of his speed comes from arm. No lower body usage in his speed, watch how he loses balances after those fastballs, especially ones like at 0:16. Spins around almost falling over cause all the force was up top. 2. What the person you replied to is referring to is he is gassing himself. Watch the drop in speed in the fastballs. It’s not sustainable the way he is overexerting himself every pitch. 3. theatlas.com/charts/S1-DccGC Average in about ‘16 was 92mph. Fluctuates slightly above that more recently.

I'm no expert BUT his glove is so high when throwing fastball but below the belt when throwing sliders AND at around above the belt when throwing the change-up. The slower arm speed when throwing the change up too but the glove is much more alarming, nice change-up drop too in my opinion.

Yeah his mechanics might be a little bit of a tell. That's all easily fixed by a good pitching coach. What you should be looking at is consistency in the zone with each pitch. Constancy with speed and movement of each pitch. His mechanics can be worked on, there is a lot more here to pay attention to. The fact he hit 96 (once but still). Makes me believe that with a good pitching coach that 1 time 96 becomes a consistent 96 or even constant 97-98.

As a hitter I would notice right away that on his fastball he double pumps. He comes out his glove and back in while in his motion. When he throws his slider he stays in his glove and his change-up he's super fast with his delivery. Hopefully he's just tipping his pitches cuz hes throwing bullpen. If not, they will be all over him if they can pick up on these tell tale signs in game.

I realize this is a bull pen session but coaches need to also focus on drills that emphasize defensive reaction speed as come backers of a bat at that speed can create fat more damage than the torque on the knee after release.

Not to mention he has a huge ball from glove separation on his fast ball and then nothin on his off speed that and the fact he is throwing all out on his fast ball and slowing everything down on his change up is a recipe for disaster against MLB quality hitters. His best fastball was the one that was his last one he hit his spot low and away at 91

His glove is different type of way when he throws a ball. Any good batter can know what coming. Hes got MLB potential, but he needs to adjust. Example; Fastball: Glove in middle of stomach. Slider: Glove on his waist. Change up: Same like slider but out a little more. Its just a good batter can know whats coming, if he can adjust that to what looks like a fastball, he can do really good.

Dudes in the comments saying “he’s so predictable tho” lol bro, 96 is still 96, still fast even when you know it’s coming 😂trust me. I mean a great batter can get a hand on it but if you aren’t the best batter, that 96 is sending you back to the dugout Cuzzo 😅.

He slows down his delivery on offspeed pitches. Major League Hitters will eat him alive. Definite improvement needed in his mechanics.

No they are not. I’ve played with the guy. He went to Texas Tech for a year then left to go juco to build his velo back up. The gun is correct, if not lower than what it actually is.

I can’t imagine getting lucky and actually making contact with his fastball. It would prob shatter my hands and bat.

I'm certain I could throw that hard. Whether it will be in the strike zone is a different story.
