hearing Jack talk about an artist's relationship to the "industry" was surprisingly refreshing.

Fame.
he spilled SO MUCH about that songwriting credits and artists’ relationship with the industry thingy in such little time
Love how he gets lost in breaking down the actual musicality of the different scenes it’s amazing to see someone so clearly interested in every aspect that’s going on

It’s crazy to think that 12 years ago I sat in this dude’s tour “bus” and played him my band’s ep and he sat and critiqued it for 30 minutes. Then an hour later my band opened for his band. A night that will always be up there for me. Jack and the rest of Steel Train are nice dudes. Crazy to see how big he’s gotten on the production side of things.

10 years ago I handed him my EP outside of a Jack’s Mannequin show in CA. To this day I wonder if he listened to it 🧐

Antonoff is one of the masters of his craft and I could listen to him talk about what he does for hours
*This man deserved a life time achievement award for producing august alone.*
So glad that he's getting the recognition he deserves on his own because his music genius is so incredible
So glad he brought up producers trying to get songwriting credits when they didn't write the song!
Antonoff saying "Jesus and Mary Chainy", for me, is priceless
I don't know why, but this man's voice makes me feel really comfortable.

As a swiftie who watched all the "making of a song" clips and the whole folklore and evermore productions, I could already guess the first thing Jack was going to say after that Pitch Perfect clip was "kalimba is nice".
0:10 the damn beats pill in every rap video 6 years ago 💀😂
i can watch this all day. he is genius, cant wait for "take the sadness out of saturday night" album ❤️🔥
fun fact: this man has 2 albums of the year: 1989 & folklore (as a producer)

4:56 - Brian Wilson uses the earphones that way because he's deaf in one ear.
I love him, he’s absolutely fascinating
Ive had a crush on Jack since his Fun days onwards to his Dont take the money MV. Now that I know how much of a geek he is, I think I am genuinely in love.
imagine if there are instruments or music production things with him in that room that he can mess with as examples while he talks about all these music production stuff. it would be soo cool! (i'm a total music production noob as you might see in my comment but I know what's interesting)
This was my favorite one of these I've watched. He's so honest and thoughtful and engaging.
Jack: "there's no such thing as a coincidence 👁️👄👁️" 11:51
this was sooo entertaining, i love watching him talk about music because you can see how passionate and how much he knows about it. Jack Antoff the only man ever
nice to see jack's finally out of taylor's basement
I imagine all music in a sphere so it is amazing to hear someone say it like that.

One of the best producers in music working today.
Such a sick video. Thank you
I thoroughly enjoyed this
as a professional engineer, hoooollllyy $hit so nice to hear someone talk about the "you should be happy to be here" exploitation line we've been fed.
Its crazy how GQ pick 1 producer to breakdown these scenes and they pick jack antonnofff❤❤❤❤👑👑👑
Jack! Loved his insight
Tried out the sleighbells thing right away, can confirm is cool thanks Jack
This guy has handled this incredibly well. The perfect level of not blaming others too much, accepting the outcome and being driven to do better.

So fascinating and enlightening. I was a fan before and more so now. He should do a Ted talk “so you wanna be in the music industry…”
jack antonoff and pitch perfect- my worlds colliding
just the bleachers production alone makes him credible to do this
I don’t think I will ever understand the hate that he gets. He seems good at what he does, that’s why he/we’re here right. He also seems sweet, doesn’t seem pretentious, no frills, and he looks like a guy you can have a convo with, and just be yourself. Besides, I really like someone who can laugh at their own jokes/thoughts like they’re going crazy, because me too.
Ok why did they bleep him at 11:05 when seconds before they didn’t bleep anything?

When will GQ make a video for a Teacher Breakdown? No love for the teaching profession? I went ahead and made my own video because they haven't yet.
Would have loved to see a reaction to Inside Llewyn Davis 😊
KZread constantly recommends me GQ videos I couldn't care less about. I have been playing guitar for 20 years, I'm a mix engineer, and I had to stumble across this one by clicking on the GQ channel to see what new videos they had. Well done KZread algorithm, you idiot.
"when an artist you like starts to chase something...its a very sad feeling" - Jack I wish you'd revist Nate Ruess and fun. just one more time man.
Jack: Nothing is a coincidence, nothing ALSO Jack: *aggressively tries to brainwash me into buying a remote control without a TV*

Love that he references Jesus and Mary Chain

what a genius
Why the heck are the sound levels in the movie clip WAY different than the person commenting them? It's REALLY tiring to keep pulling the volume up in the scenes and then down again when there's comments about the clip. The volume disparity is especially bad in the Bohemian Rhapsody clips. Did you even proofwatch the video yourselves that you just made? On another tone, the commentary was great!
I love that sleigh bells brought up. Whoever compiled these clips did their research because Jack goes off on sleigh bells when discussing “I miss those days”. Real Christmas-y
words cant describe how much i adore this man, his talent is exquisitely crazy
So grateful for his comments about being an artist in the U.S.
thank you jack for the free therapy
