    That part in 2:55 reminds me of a similar pattern that Jack Antonoff made with Lorde, including the secondary producers on the second pre-chorus of Lordes Melodrama's track Supercut. It's like rhythmic pauses that the Synth's make 👌

    This gave me CHILLS! I fell in love with this song bc it has this hopeful, wistful indulgence to it...but at the same time almost something cynical about relationships, amd the eventuality of us falling into patterns. I still feel like this belongs in a john Hughes film. It has that 80's "hope" to it- like 'yeah, I'm a geek but MAYBE just maybe Jake Ryan and I are gonna kiss over my birthday cake after all". Fuck, I love this.
