Foo Fighters is much the same way. The band is just for live shows. Dave writes all the songs himself.

Jack Antanoff is a living legend. This man makes me so happy in his songs, shows and also amazingly insightful interviews like these. I love him so fckin much!

Jack is so talented & his thought process behind creating this song is insane!

Jack is a genius, flat out. He's on another level when it comes to song creation and creativity. What I'd give to have an ounce of his creativity and ingenuity.

This man is the BOSS musically. It annoys me knowing the charts are full of people that can only sing. And some of them can't even do that.

Genuinely one of my favorite songs of my life so far. The pace, the production, the composition, the lyrics...I've listened to it so many times and I just can't get over it. I love it with my entire being.

Interesting to watch the process. Still hoping for an acoustic-only album/EP with Lorde like your last live performance with her. That was so pure and magical.

This is why I love Jack Antonoff so much. He puts in so much time and talent into his songs that actually have real meaning behind them. Can't wait to see this live in concert!

I love hearing the different sounds broken down. There are so many layers to that song that I wasn't even consciously registering.

Wow brilliance. No wonder Lorde hooked up with him for melodrama. Two brilliant artists one brilliant album.

Makes me appreciate the song so much more. He used descriptive words and feelings to describe sounds like, it was alive and in the streets. I can envision it. Love.

I've only began listening to The Bleachers last year, and I swear they're part of my Top 3 artists ever. Pure brilliance and skill. Jack Antonoff you are to die for! Never stop making music please!

Probably one of the finest pop songs of the 2000’s.

Such an awesome, in-depth look into the layers of the song. I love how you explain each instrument and why you put it in, what it made you feel and how it all comes together. So awesome.

That part in 2:55 reminds me of a similar pattern that Jack Antonoff made with Lorde, including the secondary producers on the second pre-chorus of Lordes Melodrama's track Supercut. It's like rhythmic pauses that the Synth's make 👌

This gave me CHILLS! I fell in love with this song bc it has this hopeful, wistful indulgence to it...but at the same time almost something cynical about relationships, amd the eventuality of us falling into patterns. I still feel like this belongs in a john Hughes film. It has that 80's "hope" to it- like 'yeah, I'm a geek but MAYBE just maybe Jake Ryan and I are gonna kiss over my birthday cake after all". Fuck, I love this.
