What a story . Jabu really was the instigator and beginner of all things Herd. What a wonderful thing it must be to have altruism like Adine Mom had for elephants. To grow up with that kind of an example is why Adine is the human being she is today.

Happy birthday my dear Jabulani!😀 😍 How big and strong you've become! I thank God you were rescued and so well cared for.

He is really an extraordinary elephant. Hand-raised, didn’t join the herd until age 5 and ended up second in command. I remember him being the first one Khanyisa was introduced to because of the continued interest he showed in bonding with her. On the video where Khanyisa screamed about being alone, he was the second one to respond and stayed there in the gathering of females surrounding her. He’s a confident and compassionate bull and a darn good lion chaser, too.

What an amazing ellie Jabu is, to go from an orphan to accepting orphans and even showing them the ropes in the group. It's like, he knows that is what is needed and does it.
