Hi Jeff, after seeing this, I am almost ready to buy a red hybrid jaboticaba plant. A seller has a 5 year old plant in 3 gal pot, he says it may flower this year. Can you advise if it is a viable proposal? I do not want to spend this $200+ for a plant and shipment that will take few more years. Also if you happen to share or sell some of the fruits, I can come by as I am not very far from Modesto.

I’m in Sacramento and now I have to try to grow one. 😂good stuff Jeff

Amazing. I have few guava plants and have watched your videos to successfully grow fruits on them. Thanks for all you kind sharing of information. Seeing this Jaboticaba is mind boggling. Even though I never tasted this, your vivid description encourages me to buy a plant :)

Jeff the only Jaboticaba fruits I've tried have been from a tree at the Arboretum here in Pasadena, CA. It tasted, as you said, like a Concord grape, BUT, with some condensed milk (kinda vanilla-y and creamy)! I know that sounds weird, but they are delicious! I [;anted a small Sabra that I bought online, but it's still only a few feet tall and probably 4-5 years away from fruiting. I'll just have to keep visiting the local gardens until then... 🤫

Haha that really is seriously loaded this year Jeff. I guess I'm in for another 15 to 20 years wait 😂😂. Interesting that the birds show very little interest in the fruit 🤔

Lol…. The skin is thick but once the fruit is very ripe… the bigger birds will attack

Wow, I can’t believe how prolifically your jabo is fruiting! I can’t imagine how long it took to get there from seed! (Also yes, Jaboticabas and Guavas are both part of the Myrtaceae family, so they are related!)

Hey Jeff, love the content! I'm growing stuff in gig harbor, WA, zone 8b/9a. Do you have any of these seeds available for sale or trade? My understanding is that seeds will be more cold hardy if grown on a tree in colder climates. It seems like you are one of the few people pushing the boundaries for the jaboticaba and your seeds may be great for my environment. Thanks for taking the time to answer our questions Jeff!

That variety jaboticaba takes longer than any other variety to fruit when grown from seed. Can you reach up in there with a long lathe or something similar and knock them loose so they will fall? Thanks Jeff I'm glad you guys had such a good harvest.

I have a 6 feet tall Sabara Jaboticaba. I purchased it 3 years ago in a 7 gallon container and it was 5 feet tall then. Not sure exactly how old it is. I know Sabara can take 7 to 10 years to fruit, so haven't received any fruit yet.

I don’t think you can get airlayer anywhere. I got mine from a nursery in Florida but only seedlings last year. Have you try airlayer? I wish I can try one, I guess I have to wait 10 years lol

Yeah I heard airlayer pretty much everything but for this fruit I was told there is no airlayer only from seed. I got mine last year probably have to wait 10 years to try how it tastes like. Not sure I can wait that long😂. I heard people describe how it tastes but never taste before.
