मेरे वालीद जो मुरादाबाद के देहात के रहनेवाले थे वो मेरे बचपन मे अक्सर सुलताना डाकू के किस्से सुनाते थे उन किस्सो मे सुलताना डाकू गरीबो को जमीनदारों और सरकार के कारिन्दारो के जुल्मों से हीफाज़त करता था आज का एपीसोड सुनकर मेरे वालिद जिन्हे गुजरे चालीस सल से ज्यादा हो गए उन की याद ताजा हो गई

I am from Barhapur Bijnor My native is around 15 km from patthar garh fort Sultana daku occupied patthar garh fort built by najib ud daula long after him when he was about to be hanged by British British officer asked why he became dacoit He said They were too poor in their child hood One day there was nothing to eat He stole a hen or egg from somewhere His mother appreciated him for the theft by giving him shabashi on his back He said " agar uss din meri maa meri peeth pe shabashi ki jagah mere muh par thappad maarti toh main kabhi daku nahi banta" He has Robin hood kind of image among locals even today Sultana daku has more respect than Uttar Pradesh Police for sure Though i am not saying dacoity is good

We were in Ranikhet in year 1962. We were class of geology field trip . We were about 10 guys. Can’t find any accommodation in any small hotels or guest houses. One Kumuni gentleman named Mr. Pande a small time contractor living outside Ranikhet accommodated us in his home for about 10 days. He won’t accept mine! We used to be in his contact for years and are grateful! Corbett was right!

I heard stories about sultana daku. His forte is still present in Najibabad (District Bijnor U.P). He always loot money from rich people and distribute among poor's.
