Tupac never played around with subliminal messages about dissing someone. Tupac was straight up in your face. So there was no assumption as to who he was talking about. If Pac had an issue with it, you knew it. That's the difference. Most rappers didn't come like that.

Thing about PAC that a lot of people miss is that it isn’t even the bars; it’s the execution, the feel, the delivery, the way he was the tightest in the pocket on the beat, one of the hardest ever on the beat. Those are the kind of things that give an artist IDENTITY when mastered.

I will never forget the day it came out. In Brooklyn, driving my '93 Nissan Sentra at age 17 with my friends on Flatbush. Wendy Williams & Funk Flex on the radio throughout the day saying, "This record so disrespectful" while laughing on air. My jaw dropped. It was so much bleeping, people was looking for the original copy. Then, Pac dropped "How Do U Want It" single, and the B side was called "Hit Em Up" New York couldn't find Biggie for 3 weeks. No phone calls, no interviews, nothing! We declare Pac the winner! 3 weeks later niggaz in Brooklyn spotted Biggie going into a studio.

When this song came out everyone was Silent listening to it the first time, it was like no one could believe the way he was going in so hard... everyone knew that moment was historic. Then when we did a playback it was like Ohhhhhhh Shitttttt he did them like THAT!!🤣 IM SO GLAD I GOT TO SEE IT AND EXPERIENCE TUPAC WHILE HE WAS ALIVE. when he died people cried so much and was so mad and angry and hurt for YEARSSS and STILL are mad and hurt. He was a revolution in human form.

I was working late and it came on radio…90s. Had a tough ass day, 17 hour bs but, then this track came on and they played it back to back. I got pulled over cause cop thought I was on drugs. I was like yo, you gotta check this out. No one, ever heard shit like this. It did change diss tracks to now how Eminem, Pusha T did it…raw, blunt but man, when This came out!!! RIP 2Pac
