📜About the Piece:
This is one of the most iconic and frequently performed works in the cello repertoire. Composed in the early 18th century, this piece is the opening movement of Bach's six suites for unaccompanied cello, which remain a cornerstone of cello literature. The six cello suites by J S Bach suite was rediscovered and popularized by the legendary cellist Pablo Casals in the early 20th century, who stumbled upon a copy of the suites in a secondhand music store. His recordings brought these masterpieces to the attention of the world, cementing their status as essential works for cellists and classical music enthusiasts alike.
