I do love a Maritime ballad. I moved to Atlantic Canada in 2012 (from the US Deep South) ... so I'm not truly a "maritimer." Then, again, neither is J.P. Cormier, but I think he wrote one of Atlantic Canada's best songs. It's a ballad and a love song. There's no "showmanship" in this video. that's simply talent. Natural ability. There's so much of that in the Maritimes. To think, if I'd never moved here, I'd never have heard of "Stompin' Tom."
