J. Krishnamurti - Rajghat 1985 - Public Talk 3 - As long as there is a meditator, there is no meditation
Summary:
Is there another kind of learning which is not merely memorising?
Why do we make such an immense effort to do anything?
Can love exist where there is sorrow?
Everyone on this earth, from the poorest to the richest, from the most powerful to the least powerful, suffers.
Suffering is not yours, because everybody around you suffers.
Why are we so frightened of death?
Why can't I be free of my attachment, now?
Religion has nothing whatsoever to do with rituals, with symbols.
As long as there is a meditator, there is no meditation.

This channel is managed by the Krishnamurti Foundation Trust, UK, and by the Krishnamurti Foundation of America.
The role of the foundations was described by Krishnamurti when he said, 'The foundations will see to it that these teachings are kept whole, are not distorted, are not made corrupt. They will not give rise to any sectarian spirit in their activities... nor create any kind of place of worship around the teachings or the person.'
We maintain extensive archives of Krishnamurti's original works and all four Krishnamurti foundations are actively engaged in the publication of material in various forms.
Our videos contain thousands of subtitles in more than 25 languages, translated by volunteers from all over the world. If you would like to help us with translating subtitles, please contact us at digital@kfoundation.org

I've inquired on Consciousness for a number of years now. I've read many books, I've listen to many talks from various philosophers, theologians,Etc. Until I found J. Krishnamurti nothing made sense. Thank you

“Can love exist when there is sorrow?” Whenever I am sorrow, I am seeking for attention unconsciously. There is “I”, “someone” here, to eager to exchange, to want something back in order not to be in that sorrow anymore. There is no love in the process, only posession 😊

Meditation linked to timeless insight, we're on the same page. He emphasized that meditation is undirected, spontaneous, as distinct from meditation associated with posture, form, association with doing and ritual. Meditation, however, can be directed when the operations of the mind are involved. The oratory method of Krishnamurti does this consistently.

About 47 min; the concept that we are quite attached to our suffering and some even, "happy in my suffering" or at least the idea we want to be seperate from other humans IN our suffering- this is a very difficult concept for many to accept and then also to correct. A mind in pain is not typically open to much as far as solutions to ending that pain beyond of course, escape. I think that realizing this attachment to suffering completely is even easier than escaping it and far more effective in ending that suffering. I dont know, just a thought.

When a country is hot but very humid it's pretty uncomfortable. But when it's hot without humidity it's still hot but much better. So the man says 'at least it's dry heat!'.
