Oh J-hope has way more intense rap and flows up his sleeve, this is nothing compared to his catalogue XD I can't wait for you guys to watch J-Hope headlining Lollapalooza in Chicago last year with over 100K waiting for hours to see him perform! It's where he met J.Cole for the first time as well, such an amazing memory for both artists, and that is how On the Street came to life =)

Lollapalooza was an eye opener. He gave his all. I do not know how he did not expire. I have never seen a solo artist maintain that level of energy so long. It was a tour de force universally acknowledged as one of the best concerts of the year.

Of all the members, I think j-hope is the hardest to get a handle on style-wise. His signature is coming onto a track sideways. Sometimes he'll sound like four different artists on one track. Not even just in his solo stuff. Even on BTS songs, his parts stand out because they're just all something new and different. He raps and sings and he's got so much range within those two realms and his tone and flow and vibe can have extreme disparities too. You listen to Daydream, Hangsang, Arson, Airplane, Blue Side, and On The Street and you'd never guess they all came from the same artist. So you have to listen to a lot to get a clear picture of who he is. But I will say that it's all still very HIM. Which is so impressive to me. It's hard to develop a distinct artistic identity and brand while still managing to constantly surprise and challenge fans. In the fandom, we often say "the genre is j-hope" and call him "one-of-one." A couple of common threads I think you'll see is his old-school hip hop inspirations (east coast and west coast), his catchy melodies, his innovative flows, his story-telling (which is super referential, concept-driven, and full of wordplay), and his tendency to write with a performance in mind. j-hope is a rapper, dancer, singer, writer, and producer but what he is at his core is an MC and that shows in his music. So I know it's hard but try not to proceed with this as your singular understanding of j-hope. This song is an homage to his muse, a show of gratitude to his roots, and a farewell-for-now to his fans. It's nostalgic and sentimental and absolutely fire (he composed that whistle melody btw!), but it's a song with a purpose that transcends the music.

J Hope started out at 10 yrs old as a street dancer. J Cole's music was influential to him, he danced to it back then, and considers him to be his muse. This song was a bit different because J Hope really gave it to J Cole as far as bars go (and wow!, he did a great job). There was great symbolism to J Hope dancing on the street and in the subway, to J Cole's rap - then meeting him on the rooftop😊 i can safely say, you will not find a bad song. They play in lots of different genres, so some might suit you better than others, but I honestly feel it's all exceptional! 💜

j-hope or as we affectionately call "Hobi" is the sunshine of BTS and ARMY. He has such a cheerful and sweet personality. He is the dance leader of BTS as well as one of the 3 rappers in the rapline. He helps the members learn the choreography. But this song right here is his "goodbye" or "see you later" song to the ARMY before he enlisted for military service. The oldest member, Jin, enlisted months before, also gave us with a "goodbye" song called The Astronaut which he co-produced with Coldplay. Hobi is a big fan of J. Cole and mentioned him in his previous songs. He met J. Cole in Lollapalooza when Hobi was the headline act. This is how the collaboration started. He featured his idol in his goodbye song just as Jin wrote and produced his goodbye song with his idol, Coldplay. It's really so so sweet of them to do for ARMY and also to fulfill that dream of theirs to work with their favorite artist before enlisting. What a treat🥰We miss them so much :( I can't wait for 2025😿

@@roughboyz6453 Actually, Coldplay collaborated with the whole group on a Grammy nominated song, My Universe, where they got to know each other during the pandemic. Coldplay is one of Jin's favorite bands. So when he needed a goodbye song, he called Chris Martin and asked if they had a good song. Chris tells the story in his introduction to the Astronaut performed during their concert in Argentina. Jin flew 40? hours to sing it with them one time before he enlisted. He did make a MV that Chris is in with him; see if you can spot him. Anyway, here is the link to the concert in Argentina: kzread.info/dash/bejne/rKqKztebqNaqiag.html

BTS doesn’t do just pop. Only 30-40% of their music is considered true pop while the majority is hip-hop, alternative, and genre-bending. 100% of their full group discography contains rap. They also break into small units for different songs that may only have singers, or rappers, or various configurations. As you guys continue your BTS journey, please do a small background research before each song. Because it’s a shame that you are missing all the greater context and deep messages. For example, this song is J-hope’s temporary “good-bye” before he joined the Korean military. J Cole is his biggest musical influence. J-hope’s first solo mixtape/album is called “Hope World” (2018) which is inspired by Cole’s “Cole World”. This collab is a very meaningful full circle.

Each member has their own color in their songs. JHope has huge diversity in his sounds and is one of the absolute best dancer in kpop. His musical idol is Jcole who he finally met at last year’s Lolapalloza (where JHope was headlining and sold a record breaking number of tickets the most in history). They made an instant friendship and this collab came out of it. So far the two members who have left us for their military service have left us a “goodbye for now song” (This song and The Astronaut by Jin/ColdPlay). They are deeply important songs to Army. Enjoy your journey. For an all rapline song check out Outro Tear, watch a live with lyrics (no mV) it’s amazing. 💜💜💜

This video is an homage to j-hope's hero and muse, J Cole. Hobi gave J Cole most of the bars on his own song and instead went back to his roots in underground street dance (literally dancing underground in the video while J Cole raps.) This is a dream come true for him to work with J Cole and he was so happy. This song was his I Love You and See You Soon to ARMY before his enlistment in the military where he is currently serving his mandatory service time in S Korea.

BTS has 3 rappers (RM, SUGA aka Agust D, and J-Hope. The three rappers have many songs when it's just the 3 of them, as well as most of BTS's songs as a group have a mix of rap in the song, depending what genre they are singing, whether it be hip-hop, pop, R&B, Latin pop, rock, ballads, etc. This group is the most versatile group I have ever come across in my 59 yr lifetime. There discography is HUGE between group and solo songs. My BTS playlist has 300+ songs already. Recommendations: Rap Line (3 of them) -Cyphers 1-4 (A Must!) *Although Cypher 1 is not my favorite, you can hear their progression getting better and better with each Cypher -Ddaeng (I would recommend explanation video through DKDKTV) -UGH (Also recommend explanation video through DKDKTV) -Outro Tear (This song is deep because the rap line wrote it when BTS was thinking about disbanding) *The explanation videos are really eye opening as the rap line is so good at word play and hidden meaning. RM songs: -JOKE -Do you -Intro Persona -YUN ft Erykah Badu -Wildflower SUGA/Agust D songs: -Agust D self titled track -Seesaw -Shadow -Daechwita, Haegeum, Amygdala (These 3 songs are actually a trilogy, I know you've already watched 2 of them) -The Last J-Hope songs: -More -Arson -Daydream -Intro: Boy Meets Evil -Equal Sign -Chicken Noodle Soup ft Beck G This is just a few of my favorites from each of the rap line, although there are SO many more! Enjoy the BTS Rabbit hole journey...it's literally neverending! Borahae 💜

(There are no bad BTS songs ;). They don't let them out the door.) This song was released as j-hope's goodbye-for-now/ care song for the fanbase just before he enlisted (military service being mandatory in SK still; two of the members are currently enlisted with the other five expected to enlist soon). The usual recommendation for the rapline (SUGA (Augst D), j-hope, and RM) is to watch the four Cyphers in order (you have to seek fan -made lyric videos for those though, because the words matter so much and the early songs weren't released with official closed-captions in English ... now stuff is usually released with five languages of CCs) ... this is useful for getting ahold of their lyricism and their styles, and also for seeing their skill and emotional progression over the first several years. However, it sounds like a couple of you won't be so much into the hard-hitting rap, so the Cyphers might be a turnoff for that. (I love the hard hitting stuff and recommend Augst D's "Agust D" and RM's "Joke," both of which are captioned but be forewarned that noone can read that fast.) J-hope's "Daydream," from his first mixtape, Hopeworld, would be a more pleasant/ gentler moment. His second solo project (first official solo album) was released in 2022, "Jack in the Box." It sounds from a couple of your other videos like you might appreciate "More" even though it's a harder sound (and "Arson" is not to be missed on general principle), but if you find the lyric videos (a slightly different concept than a "music video"), the other songs on that album are more pop/chill. ("More" or "Arson" would be a dynamite contrast to this one you've just published.) RM's second solo mixtape, mono., is super-chill ... and has several lyric videos with an English cc track. His recent solo release, the album Indigo, showcases a pretty large range of styles and collaborations, but all of them are more chill than most of Agust D's stuff. "Wildflower" is an astonishing video in a very different way than Deachwita and Haegeum (and was filmed all in one contiguous day, which blows my mind). If you want a BTS video with all seven of them, just to see how they work together, the one that caught me is "Not Today." Another one that catches a lot of people is "ON: Kinetic Manifesto," or for the more artsy stuff, "Black Swan." Have fun, y'all ;)

BTS is so versatile with their music that even Grammy has acknowledged that BTS is a genre in itself. They cover and blend so many genres into their music both as a group and as solo artists. What's more amazing is that, their genre bending music has become a whole new genre which they do so well, producing great music. That is why you have to go through a lot of their productions to truly understand and appreciate their music and also why we ARMY say there is something for everyone. Hope you get to experience all the wonders of BTS music as you dive deeper into the rabbit hole. Look forward to more BTS. You should check out MORE and ARSON by J-Hope from his recent album Jack in the Box as well. They are 🔥🔥!

The three rappers are known as the rap line and they have a number of performances all together. The four vocalists are known as the vocal line. They also have performances together. All of them have the ability to rap and sing and of course they have hundreds of songs as the entire group often with a mixture of vocals and rap. J-Hope comes hard with some of his rap as well. You might want to react to More and Arson.

j-hope is a versatile artist and when he sings he puts sincere emotions to it that you can hear. His two albums Hope World and Jack in the Box are both masterpieces and he tells compelling stories, connected to each other. Worth listening to! Jack in the Box was even one of the Top 10 albums of 2022 ( Rolling Stone), He writes and composes his own songs and also produces. Something very impressive cuz he started as a trainee who don't know how to rap or compose yet, he excels in everything he does, always learning, making music without compromising his values and is one of the most sincere artists you will ever know. :)

To let you know, not all BTS songs are pop sounding. They do a lot a genres - pop, alternative, latin pop, edm, hip-hop (a solid portion cuz of the 3 rappers), ballads, even a bit of rock. So even in BTS songs the rappers mostly do rap (sometimes they do sing a bit too). But they do have many songs which are just the 3 rappers even in BTS albums - cyphers parts 1-4, ddaeng, ugh, outro: her, outro: tear etc. Similarly the 4 vocalist sing songs with just the 4 of them - zero o clock, dimple, the truth untold, etc. Moreover, they have subunit songs, with a combination of 2-3 members per song, not to mention solo songs in BTS albums as well as on their own ( mixtapes, albums, mini albums, singles, fan songs). Even on their own projects they sometimes feature the other members (for eg. Suga has songs with jhope (huh) and RM (strange) in his mixtapes. This comment has gone on forever, sry for that😅😅

BTS has a diverse discography. each member has their own unique style so you will discover new things as you get to know the other members😁 J.Cole is J-hope's muse since the beginning, Jhope even have his first mixtape album called "Hope world" named after "Cole world". "On the street symbolizes many things. The street is the stage he got his start on with Street dance, the transitional phase between the work he's done up to 2023 as a part of BTS and also solo artist and his entrance into the military, a mutual understanding between himself and his fans Army, and his continued life journey as an artist." -weverse magz

You are going to wait forever for a bad song from BTS. Seven prodigiously multi-talented genius artists in one group. They are not just a once in a lifetime group. It's unbelievable how good they are. In fact they were often accused of lip synching early on because their chorography is so good and complex WHILE SINGING AT THE SAME TIME. The use backing tracks, like everyone, but they never lip synch. Sometimes now they don't finish random lines in live performances, just to show their mics are live.

Also, if you do rap line songs (RM, Suga and J Hope), look for explanation videos. One channel we like is DKDKTV. Also Doolset Lyrics have a lot of info about the lyrics and meanings. Songs I’d suggest them to go to for sure is Baepsae, UGH!, DDaeng and Outro:Tear. For the BTS song Spring Day, make sure to also react to (same video) the explaination video done by Italian Army. It’s in Italian but has subtitles and the videos they show….man, if you have kids they are TOUGH to watch. They lyrics were written about loss, or the feeling of separation, but the video was a statement about a tragedy that happened in SK which the government screwed up. (Not working to do a quick rescue of a capsizing ferry, which killed over 250 school kids.)

"i know bts is more poppy" NOPE bts is more of a hip hop group than they are a pop group. most of their group songs are genre fusion they have very few songs that are focused on one genre and not many of them are poppy they do have a few pop songs but its not enough to label them a pop group like theyre very far from a backstreet boys which was full pop id say theyre a hip hop / r&b group before id call them a pop group. some have pop elements but theyre not FULL pop. the rappers have MANY rap songs with just the 3 and the vocalists have many songs with the just them too. this is why bts isnt like most boybands. they have the group songs then they have unit songs (rap unit or vocal unit) then they have solo songs and other unit songs where its a mix of the rappers and vocalists but not the full seven then they have collabs and covers and even covers where they write their own lyrics too theyre true artists and no genre can describe them so nope not a pop group or more poppy. just a group that does everything. i suggest reacting to jhopes song MORE. i think you guys may like that one a lot :)

I liken her to a Korean Nicki Minaj. But I like her more. A fun reaction would be her set on ‘Killing Voice’. Samples of a few of her songs. Lots of great K Pop artists out there; I am trying all of them out to see who I love best, but it’ll always be BTS number 1. But there’s other great songs out there. Seems many BTS songs just make you think more.

The 3 rappers have many other songs together and they all kick butt lol The "other guy" is truly one of the most amazing people on this earth. Kim Namjoon aka RM is the leader of the group. I have a deep, abiding respect for Namjoon. Y'all should check him out. I know some of y'all are rockers as i watched the Black Sabbath video y'all did do recommend More and Arson. I'm also a rocker frlm back in the day (Zeppelin, Stones to Nirvana, Pearl Jam) for reference.

BTS is an amazing group, they are much that just pretty faces, His fandom is called "ARMY", I liked your reaction, could you react to "Run BTS" where the 7 members are presented (kzread.info/dash/bejne/dZZrksmchLnciaw.html) They are 4 vocalists and 3 rappers, all 7 are excellent dancers and actively participate in their music!! You can also watch Taylor's video which is a guide where you can know more about each BTS members 😅 (kzread.info/dash/bejne/mqmKwduClNvAgLw.html) Thanks for the reaction 😉
