I Loved the Army Men games so much as a kid.

Same here. I still think about the original Army Men games I had for the Game Boy Color

Look, it has its flaws but this was a staple of my childhood qnd it will forever hold a place in my heart. ❤ lol.

I was so happy to see this on GoG and eventually, Steam. I hope we get a Portal Runner port one day, both are super nostalgic for me. Speaking of mods, there's a great one that adds in the Special Ops mode from the console releases. It even replicates the unlock conditions and rewards. It does remove the main menu Boot Camp and Load buttons, but you can load from the pause menu and Boot Camp is Boot Camp, not super necessary.

Since I haven't seen anyone point it out, the explosion and squish noises are also the same ones used in Age of Mythology and Age of Empires up until I believe the 4th one. ( some of the voice quips are recycled as well like when you select units.)

5:15 Left click to both select and move is Command & Conquer standard. As someone whose blood cells probably all have miniature Kane or Tim Curry or etc. faces on them by now, I am a bit biased to this control scheme, but I can see why it would throw off people coming from most other RTSs. Definitely would have been nice if this game had a toggle option for players who prefer left or right click to issue orders.

Tiberium Wars was the only C&C game I played at length and I could have sworn it used left click select, right click move. But then again its been close to 15 years since I last played it so my memory must be failing me.

Man, 3DO used to pump out Army Man games back then. I did like the two Sarge's Heroes games. I wouldn't seeing those two remastered or a spiritual successor. One with an actual single player unlike that multiplayer only game on Steam. Jim Cummings was a great choice to voice most of the cast. But then we got Sarge's War. Oh no...

3DO pumped out over 100 games despite existing for only 12 years! Most of them were pretty average to bad for the time, but we did get BattleTanx and the Might and Magic series so it's not a complete wash. From what I remember Sarge's War was super edgy compared to the rest of the Army men games.

@DopedBones, They made BattleTanx too? Nice, I'd like to check those games out. Sarge's War is really trying hard to be edgy. But it just didn't work. Not after the more light hearted tone the 1st 2 games went with. Jim Cummings doesn't voice Sarge in Sarge's War either.

I love the Army Men PC game myself. I remember how much fun it was to roll around in a tank or use a flamethrower.

God, I miss the Army Men series. Now it's just that...horrendous mobile game....

Why would you use wasd for an RTS I understand it for fps but not rts hell you use the mouse and mini map way more the the direction buttons

World in Conflict, Planetary Annihilation, and every Total War since Shogun 2 are three examples off the top of my head that use WASD. It's also the de-facto standard for Real Time Tactics games
