Skirmish mode? Played on ps2 back in the day and am currently playing through the campaign on pc. Is skirmish mode a mod?

So it's under multi-player however they did this stupid thing where you need another player to play against ai so you do need to download a small mod to remove that requirement it then allows you to play just against ai
